Vice City sorta had that with the "good citizen" moments. No idea why they took those out, I kinda liked them.

Obviously that's a nice figure for the residents but for a game based on killing people it leaves much to be desired.
Different game, but when actual Yakuza bosses played Yakuza 3, they said that the guy was doing too much fighting in it. If that's what the big time gang bosses over there are saying, this is not surprising to hear at all. And I agree, Tokyo would suck.

People should really just read the wiki article on the Yazuka.

There seems to be the perception that they're Japan's version of the Italian/Russian/Mexican mafia, Colombian cartels, or US street gangs when they aren't remotely close to that.

The Mexican cartels probably killed more people in Juarez last year than all of the combined Yazuka gangs have ever killed.

SA was definitely the best of the bunch. They nailed the west coast atmosphere...

And I loved the variance in landscape and locations (Compton, L.A., Las Vegas, Inglewood, and one of my faves, the countryside.

Don't forget the desert! I love biking through that area late at night blasting Radio X.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a dog fighting component of GTA-5, perhaps financed by Ron Mexico.
