Yeah Even though I know about it I was doing that too but not cursing at the tv, I just didnt realize what was going on, but thats exactly whats happening.

It pays to watch that Mike Wang video again guys...both of them really as a reminder. Its the main reason people were excited about the game in the first place really moreso than any kind of hype

^ Mos def, it will help most people. I've got the controls down for the most part but I'll prob watch the vids again just in case something slipped through the cracks.

Well people are accidentally engaging off-ball control and have also complained that icon passing is too slow. I can see what they're saying about the slow part (the passes often seem more non-chalant than they should be), but I haven't found that it's making the game difficult or anything like that.

Its not Stumble, but to be honest with you that left stick passing is awesome, its hard not to use it to be honest with you.

The more I get used to the controls and the how the defense plays (which is realistically that is) I use icon passing less and less and just go with freestyle passing.

Think about it, in most cases unless it's a skip pass you shouldn't need icon passing/be throwing the ball across court or through a crowd of players because IRL it wouldn't get to it's intended recipient. If a teammate is in position to receive a realistic pass then you should (and can in almost every case I've noticed) be able to hit your man with freestyle passing.

Agreed man... people getting upset over cross court passes are ignoring basic fundamental passing... thats told to you to not do because the chances of them getting picked off is high. You should never expose the ball like that.

Yup, it's going to take a while to "unlearn" past basketball video game strategy (not just 2K either, pretty much every video game before this).

I mentioned this before but in the past you could almost always just look at where your teammates were running/cutting and if they were open you could hit them. In Live 10 you have to do read the defense before whipping a pass to him, it's more along the lines of passing in a football video game. A lot of "underneath linebackers" are picking off passes in Live 10. It's awesome to finally have though, nice and realistic.

Re: "If it ain't broke, DO NOT FIX IT..."

Agreed on the passing in general. My only issue is that Freestyle passing (beyond being just as unreliable as standard A button passing thanks to the RS directionality and the fact that there are often multiple players in the same RS 'quadrant') is that it too often does fancy passes when a regular pass would've gotten through. If I'm moving the ball around the perimeter, there's no need to go behind-the-back to hit a man standing 5 feet away, but I've had that happen when using Freestyle passing and it caused a turnover.

Just seems like it needs a little tuning to give regular snappy passes in those stationary situations and more complicated passes when on the move, passing at strange angles, etc. I know it was initially meant as a fancy pass mechanic, so I think a lot of that is left over... it would suit it best to limit the fancy passes unless you're moving and/or holding RT.
