It is Gilbert's fault?

I knew it, that guy always seemed like trouble.

Re: Arenas are responsible for (at least some of) the stuttering issues

I had a truly revolutionary playing experience in the summer league arena. I was like "****, everything is soooo smoooth!"

I really don't understand why rendering a bunch of chairs makes such a big difference (camera angles, the closer the better). I have crowd disabled. GTX 750ti, 2GB RAM. Should be good enough to run the game on low settings.

Also commentary is a problem. Game improves when commentary bugs out/stops.

Other than that: The game is fantastic (when it runs as silky smooth as it is supposed to run). Hope the problem is found some day

I can confirm that this is true that the framerate in the 71 Lakers arena is more stable than others. I wonder if its because the stands are further back from the floor? Or the camera is better optimized in this arena??

Yep MSG is the worst performing stadium to date for me too.

It seems as if turning off the crowd via the .cfg file does not completely disable the crowd.

Camera angles that show much of the crowd (2K cam): Bad performance.
Camera angles that show less of the crowd (broadcast): Better performance.
Game situation that show much of crowd (made basket in 2K cam): Bad performance.
Arenas that have a large crowd: Bad performance
Arenas with small/no crowd (training, summer league): Good performance.

For me, this is true with crowd turned on or off via the .cfg file.
Turning off the crowd does help a bit, but the amount of crowd that would have to be rendered if crowd wasn't turned off, is still a factor.

Edit: options/features: scrimmage mode (no commentary) is 15 FPS faster than Play Now (offline). Same teams, same arena.

Design arena: default arena (default colors, no logos) is 10 FPS faster than customized arena with custom color+custom logos+custom text.

Fantastic post, this is the kind of stuff that helps the devs figure out a solution. I'm starting to get very hopeful that I can play this game lag-free sometime

FWIW, Gauntlet and Park are very smooth for me, no complaints there. Neither has any crowd. The Grizzlies arena wasn't nearly as good as the 71 Lakers Arena, unlike what someone else told me.

Same here, Gauntlet-Park vs Play Now-Rttp is like day and night.

Playing Gauntlet and Park is soooo much smoother.

I get fps lag when playing Play Now and Rttp despite disabling the crowd and using lowest settings...

Re: Arenas are responsible for (at least some of) the stuttering issues

i just had a game against the modern day spurs at their house and i got almost no stuttering. well, whenever i thought to look for it, it wasn't there and it definitely wasn't noticeable when my head was in the game itself.

could have been a fluke, or something i did without knowing... i dunno. any one of you guys with stuttering issues be sure to have a game @ the modern day at&t center and let us know your results. i'll go for another one tomorrow.
