Honestly if the gameplay is similar to curgen, both the modes are supped up for nexgen I'll gladly take that exchange. At the end of the day it's the game modes that have been leaving me wanting more than gameplay with 2K.

I must say......

Why let the first gameplay trailer released on said game, be a compressed, low quality thing that causes nothing but confusion to many peoples (not mine) naked eye and does this spectacle (in terms of graphics) NO JUSTICE!?

?

I have read every post on this thread and I see too much of "looks just like CG" comments..... or "gameplay looks the same as current gen"....... things of this nature.

Now graphically, no justice was done - 2K, step it up and release a gameplay vid of decent res/quality so the panic can stop....

And doubters here, please realise that the gameplay enhancements can not be seen from 1 minute of gameplay....1 minute people! I have become convinced that anyone that says it looks the same as CG are just people who are not buying NG consoles (mainly) and are trying to justify......

1. You can not SEE footplanting - you need to play it and feel it
2. You can not notice coach POE from 1 minute of gameplay - you need to play a full game and let the plots and strategies kick in
3. You can not notice Ecomotion or animation synthesis in such a poor quality vid..... this will consist of MANY little, subtle things..... even a few vids won't do it - buy the game, play it, enjoy it and things (like that awkward free throw hand shake gif) will show out - little things.....

If anyone here is to blame, its 2K for not thinking about the importance of releasing a decent first vid (5 v 5 gameplay)......come on 2K, lift your game! Haha....now I know the 1080p version came out later, but that's just it - FIRST IMPRESSIONS LAST! You'd think 2K (with all the careful marketing etc.) would play by that rule - first impressions last......

Personally I liked what I saw - ready to be WOWED if/when a proper vid with intent to showcase new features/functions is released......

I hate to come off complaining - BIG 2K fan here. Love them to death - think they've done an AMAZING job..... I just cant help but see them as digging their own grave when I read all the criticism on this thread.....

So again you have to ask

"Why let the first gameplay trailer released on said game, be a compressed, low quality thing that causes nothing but confusion" ???
lol the compression of the vid doesnt change the animations, and the player movements look the same as cg. and how can you say you cant SEE footplanting? i dont even know what to say to that lol. the graphics look good no doubt but the things people are saying look the same are true, and thats the way players move in and out of the animations and some sliding is still there. its still gonna be good for a first effort on ng especially with the mode changes.

3: 2k fans that have some minor objections, but generally want a nice sim experience.

My opinion is most of us haven't the slightest clue what we are talking about, given the fact we haven't played this game on a ps4 and/or xbox1; and the quality of this video is absolute garbage.

I'm curious to see what ea has to offer, however their going to have to show more than their dribble technology that they seem overly impressed with at the moment.
This is a great staement man. From the movement, it is VERY similar. I do have the notioj that new things are in the game. I am still doing animationS on current gen that are new. The game plays reall well already, so i was not expecting 2k15 ya know??? i think 2k should have left out the :" built from the ground up " thing though. To gamers, that means a complete overhaul of things and things have been stripped from this game. I personally cannot wait until it hits on the 15th!!! i know it will be great and i am ready to see the MyPlayer in all it's 1080p glory. The details, swaet, footplanting, and AI that we have yet to experience, almost makes this a new experience

I'm still buying it though. I just knew better than to expect a drastic change. Similar to when the ps3 and 360 came out years ago.

Precisely.

I believe a lot of people are so excited (and rightfully so) that they can't see the forest for the trees. They're taking any statement that isn't praise and jumping up & down like belligerent children because they don't like it (a caustic reaction that unfortunately seems to be extremely prevalent amongst fans of the sports video-game genre, for whatever reason) I don't think anyone expected a major difference in gameplay on the first title of the new systems - however, it will damn well be an issue if it plays the same as previous generation two years from now. 2K6 on the 360/PS3 played very similar to it's PS2 counterpart, but a huge jump was made in gameplay by 2K7.

You don't remain stagnant in gameplay and if anyone with the issue of the reviewer pointing this out can tell me with a straight face that they could go back to the PS2 edition of 2K basketball after 2K7, then they're absolutely full of it.

The gameplay remaining unchanged for the most part is okay for now, but given the new technology, major changes should be expected down the line. 2K14 on the Ps3/XB1 is worth the money. Improved details, the beautiful graphics, and focus on sliding alone makes it worth the purchase.

Disagree with this. Footplanting is one of the easiest things to see, because its absence -- foot sliding, is so obvious. And there is still a fair amount of sliding though it seems somewhat improved.

Re: NBA 2K14 Video - Next-Gen Gameplay

IGN uploaded a video with two continuous minutes of gameplay. It looks really good. Like a refined version of current gen gameplay... I'm going to play this game for days.

Fair - to each their own. I felt like I could have noticed it more, but unlike the doubters, I am SURE its in the game. I believe Czar made a comment on Twitter days ago about the feel of sliding being obvious when you go back to CG......

I suppose my point was, - to the doubters of the added features, have faith that they exist and realise that some features just cant be showcased properly in a 1 min compressed vid.....

Well then they would've been better off showing us what they demo'd to the press than this after making those statements. Like I said, marketing SMH
