Re: Need Trade Input: NO Hornets

^^^ I agree with this post. I have a Hornets association and Rivers as 6th man is killing it avg 17 pts 3 reb 4 asst 1 stl and leading 6th man race. AD is avg 18 and EJ is avg 22. I got rid of Ryan Anderson, Warrick, Smith & Mason and picked up Wilson Chandler, Thabeet, and Sullinger.

Giving up your best 2 scorin options for a pass first PG is a bad move IMO.

You chose the Hornets, the Hornets are a work in progress, they're not going to be a contender for quite some time, and if you want to be realistic like I think you said, then EG, Unibrow and Rivers are your mainstays, those are the guys you build around. Rivers is absolutely LETHAL, keep him and develop him, the development process is what makes the game fun. EG is your #1 option and Unibrow is your 'franchise cornerstone' ?? Robin Lopez is also a solid backup C for you, your main concern right now should be finding low post presence... Ryan Anderson and Anthony Davis won't get the job done right now as far as post moves... I've never been a fan of Aminu, but between him and Xavier Henry, you can possibly try and move one + another player and package a draft pick for a PF, someone like a Zach Randolph possibly. Move Ryan Anderson to 6th man with Rivers and you should be able to compete for the 7-8th playoff spot this year. Then go into the draft and find yourself a stud SF and I think you will be in good hands.
Great input and I agree! But my issue is that I don't like EG and now he has a max contract I would have never signed. Try and unload him now and pick up a young guard to replace him.

That trade was unrealistic as hell but it somehow went through. Rondo isn't all that unrealistic considering he has been considered a headache for years and hasn't exactly gotten along with Doc. I really don't believe he is untouchable, the C's would do it for the right price. Not to mention their future at PG is already on the roster (Bradley)

Believe me I agree. It's not like I wouldn't be getting anything back from either the C's or a third party. If I gave up Gordon I would be looking to add Courtney Lee, specifically.
Your point about the Magic: they're just completely incompetent, could've gotten a much better offer from the Lakers or Nets outright instead of reaching out to Denver and Philly.

It's not like it was unexpected for Dwight to be traded as it's unexpected for Rondo to be traded.

My point, though, is that Boston is a much smarter organization and would try to get equal value if they EVER want to trade Rondo.

Then that's exactly what I said. I just gave input for what you asked for...

If Rondo isn't available and you want to trade EJ, go for Curry or Rubio, imo.

Re: Need Trade Input: NO Hornets

Just keep your young guys that have high potential and forget about Rondo. He can't do much offensively for your team. Send them to the untapped potential camp 2 or three times. Do the Development drills every now and then. You could make a player so good by doing this that it's actually pretty silly.

In four or five years, Rivers and Aminu can have ratings in mid 80s. Davis and Gordon will have ratings in the low 90s. Anderson will also be a high low 80 rating at the this point if you manage to keep him around and do this with him as well.

Xavier Henry could even be great at this point. Not to mention the first few top 10 picks you will get from getting your *** handed to you the first few seasons.

You can build a dominant dynasty if you do it correctly.

On the other hand, if you just want Rondo that bad, you could probably get away with Gordon and Rivers/Aminu/Henry and maybe a drack pick. I don't think that's beneficial to your team, though.

*I understand that you don't like EG, but in 3 years he will be the best SG in the game on association. His combination of offense and defense is pretty darn solid.

The guy below made a good point. I would try to get Klay, Shump, or Paul George if you really don't want to keep EG.

Hmm, if that's the case, if you want to be realistic, I would say if you try to trade EG, your targets should be somewhere along the lines of Paul George, Klay Thompson, Landry Fields or a Courtney Lee.

The only reason I dislike trading for players such as Curry, as this guy keeps bringing up, is because you're taking someone else's mainstay... Someone with a big enough role on the team, (which could be argued for Paul George) players like Curry, Wall, Harrison Barnes, MKG, these are guys who could be viewed as franchise players... But that's just my personal opinion, you'll run your association the way you want to lol.

Don't know about real life, but 2K Austin Rivers is pretty good

I would trade Eric Gordon, since he has a big salary cap hit

Re: Need Trade Input: NO Hornets

Here's the deal with Rondo and why it wouldn't be realistic. Last season the Celtics were willing to restart the franchise and get rid of Rondo because Garnett and Allen would be gone to and they could start a youth movement. No way the Celtics would start a youth movement right now. They added Garnett for 3 years and Jason Terry they won one more title. If u add gordon and and rivers it does nothing for the celtics just make them a middle of a pack team so it makes no sense. Rondo is the Celtics and he makes everyone better a gordon or rivers would not help the celtics.

Now u bring up the howard trade yes that seems unrealistic until u realize he was leaving anyway and u needed to get something for him. If he had 3 years on his contract they wouldve never made the trade.

If u wanna make the trade make it but no way will it be realistic.
