Online is worse than it was before. I was all for fixing long court passes and dunkfests, but now defense is too easy for users that aren't good. Everyone lets the CPU play their D for them and it's way too effective. People say the sliders were too geared towards offense pre-patch, but I constantly kept the other team under 45% from the field with smothering user defense.

Though long passes are toned down, overall passes are easier and I keep seeing too many balls that should be defelected get through with ease.

I'm sure I'll adjust, but so far not enjoying online play. My Player improvements are great though.

The point of the game is to have fun yes but the REASON it even exists is to SIMULATE REAL LIFE! What you and your idiotic ADD-addled friends envision as basketball nirvana is absolute poison to any rational, well adjusted basketball fan!

Go Sim or Go Home! If you can't learn to play the game the way it was meant to be played and excel at it, then do us all a favor and play NBA Jam to your hearts content! Leave the online matches to true competitors!
Uhm, to this post and the post above it, according to the ratings of Lebron James (6'8") I'm just slightly faster than him and the rest is the same offensively, he still blows me out of the water defensively. 4" make that big of a difference overall?

How about you realize the difference between REAL LIFE and A VIDEO GAME, because that's what you're failing to rationalize here.

"Just run the play and don't force it." Who says I'm forcing anything? Shooting above 65% is not forcing. If you don't play MYPLAYER and you're weighting in on the myplayer issues than you're clearly out of line.

Once again, to you "realists", here's the situation at hand as per example of REAL NBA PLAY BY PLAY to explain it.
Let's say John Wall's rookie year and he's playing the SIXTH MAN (instead) for the wizards. He gets subbed in, runs out on the court, and ARENAS calls for an ISO play. Wall doesn't hear the call and just sits where he's at, no motion at all. In response to Wall not entering the spot he's supposed to, Arenas just dribbles the ball in place until the shot clock reaches 5 seconds, then takes the most insane shot you've ever seen.

Make sense? No? That's what you're saying is legit. Prior to this patch if a play broke down immediately the positions went to their default locations on the court, and you could set up your own play. You could force motion by entering another players spot and "free style" your play. This is no longer an option, and as someone who has been top 100 in ONLINE RANKED GAMES for over 3 games now I enjoyed creating my own plays, running them as they went, and doing very well that way. You're encouraging limiting offense by forcing these plays to take place.

Oh, but I'm sure you all watch basketball on TV just for the defensive end of the game, the offense is never exciting or interesting to see how it unfolds. You want "real life" basketball then get 9 friends and go ball, don't play a video game. What do you expect to happen to players who get to spend skill points after every game (82 games in a season, 12 game minimum post season) and having capped points. You expect them to continue to be rookies forever? The point of MYPLAYER is to eventually be able to run the game how you want, not to sit on the sidelines and pretend that you don't have amazing MJ like abilities.

I'd think being top 50 on online ranked games in 2k8+9, top 75 in 2k10 would qualify me as someone who "has played sim games" enough. You obviously have no interest in the myplayer section of the game as a simplayer and to completely crap on a whole group of players is POISON to a franchise. Good luck getting patches on the next game when 20-40% of the player-base loses interest because the most exciting part of it was changed so drastically that it made it unplayable for them, and telling people to go play another game definitely doesn't help the growth of the game that you love so much. I'd say grow up to that TBH.

Unlike others who have posted here, I have noticed no problems in My Player.

You do have a valid concern about the point guard dribbling until the last 5 seconds, I'll give you that. But I am not sure why you said that it is harder to win now since It is easier for me to win in my player (I think because it suits my play style more). And I still don't have any problem in offense because I do think that I will not be able to go 50 pts a night although I did have one night with me having 50 pts pre patch but my average pts per game is still the same post patch. You just cant do that since its not realistic and 2k11 is a BASKETBALL SIM.

And it is more easy to ask for the ball post patch especially when a play is broken so freestyle the s*** out of that. The game is trying to simulate REAL LIFE NBA and it did a better job at that post patch. Basketball is 2 way, DEFENSE is NOT optional and the highlight reels are still there but you cannot force it anymore as much. Yes this is a video game A SIMULATION video game.

"The point of MYPLAYER is to eventually be able to run the game how you want, not to sit on the sidelines and pretend that you don't have amazing MJ like abilities."

Yes eventually..... but if you have a 99 rating you MAY have an argument but it does not mean you should touch the ball 100% of the time in each possession.

On ps3 I downloaded the patch, the game ran with sound, then quit and deleted my player progression file as well as the rest of the game files to start over... I boot up the game and now i have no sound. Has this happened to anyone else?

Well...so far my only issue is the super missing by my player. 98 Mid range and im missing sooo many shots, but w/e i'll get used to it i guess. The play calling thing is also annoying...wish i could freestyle like before , but seeing the plays is awesome.I was stuck at the playoffs before due to the freeze problem so im happy i can finally finish this season even if my player starts shooting all bricks/
