You do know John Wall actually has a higher vertical leap than them both right?

In reality? According to who? Lol. I do feel that Roy is a better player than Joe Johnson on both ends of the floor.

Re: NBA 2K11: Starting Five Roster Ratings

People dont realize than the overall ratings are based on the core attributes for that position... Dirk is Low because hes a shooter... 3pt shooting is not a core PF attribute... he doesnt block shots... hes not great on the boards... hes not great in the low post.... hes not incredibly strong.

As long as he plays like he does in real life then it shouldnt matter

Rod,

My brother.

John Wall did not test the best when it comes to vertical leap. He did extremely well. But neither did Josh Smith. I don't think either of them deserves a 98. Well, I do not think Wall does for that matter. The only 99s should be NAthan Robsinson from the Celtics as well as Elliot Williams for the Blazers (48 vertical).

JPosey,

Yes, you are correct. We do argue which player is a more versatile thret. You are very correct. But since NBA 2K9, 2K has given us the luxury of seeing letter grades for a number of core categories. If I am not mistaken, if you press in the Left Thumb Nimble on the controller, if brings up grades and not numbers.

I prefer this system. It tells me what I need to know. You can view the grades to see how versatile a player is. You do not need the assistance of an overall rating to make that conclusion.

As I mentioned to Brother Jeebs in a previous post, when scouting a player, you discuss each group of skills he has or doesn't have. You do not give that player an overall grade/scout.

I feel it should be the same way here. Here is an example of Football Manager which is one of the leading simulation sports titles out there. Notice how there is not an overall rating but from viewing the chart, you can clearly see what he does well and poorly.

Technical
Mental
Physical
