It's definitely much better than previous years. If you look at both, the PS3 imperfections stand out a bit more than the 360s. As I said, most of these disappear after playing a while and are really only noticeable when you compare both versions. But, It's definitely a great looking game. It will improve with the retail (court reflections aren't there yet). 360 demo is further along than the PS3, but i think improvements have been made. Still expect the 360 to be marginally better, but it is and will be far from 'terrible'.

Has anyone got a lot to time in w/ the "Layup Solutions" version of shooting? If not, I will give some impressions for the non shot stick users or ....i'm will try it my next 3....errrrr, 20 games and report back lol

OMFG!!! its been said numerous times in this thread already but jesus christ the AI is so great

I forgot how but fisher ended up guarding pierce and without any hesitation pierce attacked the basket (thought i was playing another human for a second) but thats not it he passed out the layup to an open garnett because gasol came to help fisher and i'm sure you already know garnett hits that mid range 2 with no problem...

I'm actually looking forward to watching CPU vs CPU games this year

And again, compromise to run 60 fps when other games don't even do that much. If it was as simple as "some kind of post-processing" then post a technical whitepaper that will close VC in. Frankly, they've traditionally have had some technically impressive games. I'm pretty sure they know what they are doing. Few matched them on the Dreamcast. And for third party, they seem to squeeze quite a bit out of every platform they are on, so I think your hints of ineptitude are a bit overboard.

It's not like I had to look at my screen closely and study it to see what I described. It actually catches my eye instead of what you're suggesting. I don't sit here and look for jagged edges. When the camera moves, the jagged edges shimmer. Like I said, it literally draws my eyes to it sometimes.

I think the game plays well so far, so it's not even like I'm tryin' to take a cheap shot at the game. I'm too old for that BS.

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)

I'm really amazed at the leap from 2k10 to 2k11.

Without the magic recovery speeds, the amount of executable basketball decisions your faced with in this game is astounding.

For instance, in 2k10, there were only a few scenarios you came upon in a pick and roll situation due to the incompetent AI defense.

This year, I'm seeing a wide range of defensive tactics used by the cpu.

Called a pick for Kobe at the left wing 3 extended....Bynum sets the pick. Ray Ray decides to fight over as Perkin's respects Kobe's speed and athleticism advantage and gives ground on the Hedge. Rondo then digs off of Fisher, looking for the strip, leaving him wide open for the kickout right wing 3.

Pair that with the smoothness of the new kick out pass animations (they did some serious work in this area) and watching Derek step back and position himself right behind the line...it was one of the best feeling and satisfying basketball plays I've made in a video game.

Every now and then I hop over to the College Hoops 2k forum and see the "This game owns my soul" thread.

It's about time 2k offered us an NBA game worthy of it's own.

I really don't wanna get into this with you, but I gotta address the Dreamcast comment you made. The people that worked on NBA 2K1 and 2K2 for DC are most likely not the same crew workin' on NBA 2K9, 2K10, and 2K11. Visual Concepts and Sega made those games for DC. Now, it's just VC and I doubt their crew is the same as it was 9 or 10 years ago. I'm just sayin'..

I have my reasons for posting what I post and it isn't to take shots at 2K Sports or VC. I give a raw unbiased observation of what I experienced.
