Re: Nba 2k11 video: Suns vs Heat

Only thing I don't like about NBA 2K games is how the basketball itself doesn't seem to be its own entity, as if it's mo-capped like the players are and only has specific animations tied to it, almost like it doesn't occupy the laws of gravity but instead the physics the creators have made for it.

Dumb rant, but everything else actually looks pretty good. Court spacing looks better than the earlier video.

noob question.

right next to the players name during the game, there are bars(look like cell service bars) and was wondering what is that indicating?

The more the bars, the better accuracy of shooting for the player in the particular spot.

With that as my personal standard 2k11 exceed that by a descent amount for me. In fact when you combine the smoothness of the transition between animations in addition to responsiveness then no other 2k game holds a candle to it.

If you found controls in any 2k game to be bearable then I can't see you not thinking this is a marked improvement. The thing is most of us are so used to watching the animations we freeze once they start.

Happened to me a lot until I started to remember I can still work in those situations. Its funny how my body automatically was used to watching instead of playing during those instances.

A lot of people are making assumptions on 2k controls based on 2k9 and 2k10. Those games were abberations to the progress made in 2k8. TO ME it seems like 2k11 is built on top of 2k8's solid base. Just my opinion that is not what literally happened.....
Thats good news for someone like me.

I honestly havent enjoyed 2k basketball that much, since 2k8.

Da_Czar, To me you're the best non-official marketing help 2K has ever had. I would let you write some Insights for 2K11. After reading your posts, I feel like 2K11 is the basketball game I have been waiting for. Thank you for taking the time to post comments here.

2k nails, the TV style presentation...they are the best in the business at that.

I like the ambiance and how the crowd isnt going crazy every second of the game.

They react more appropiatley based on the ebs and flows of the game. Very NBA Live 10 like.

I like how a cold nash missed a wide open 3, and also the off ball movement of your players seems much better...and it looks like we'll be able to drive and kick of of dribble penetration.

The thing that has always driven me crazy about the 2k game is that the team defense never breaks down off of dribble penetration..which allowed online campers to be able to roam aroudn the court, without compromising their defense.

Looks like that has been fixed.

Good stuff.
