Re: The Official Da_Czar Twitter thread

Big ups to da czar for his insight and info to the community through what he is allowed to share. Ive been a big 2kforums guy for the past couple years and didnt know that i shouldve been over here at op sports where its real for real out here lol.

Im not sure if your at liberty to answer this but I would like to know about passing during the middle of and before the finish of some user controlled moves this year. Can i pass the ball out after my first step of the euro step with d rose, if not can i pass out after the second step? Same for spin layup, if we can branch out of all animations, does it look fluid trying to pass out of a spin gather or hop step, pass the ball in mid air or the hop step because artest just helped off of korver(supid move) and he is at the three and unless i get him the ball mid air hopstep he wont get a clean open look. Maybe you can flirt with things of that nature and report to us, and if you cant answer now maybe when they lift the shhhhh button off your computer if you could let me in on that later. Thanks for the insight on everything though.

Re: The Official Da_Czar Twitter thread

Thanks TFB(is that "the show"?)for putting people up on czar's twitter, and Beluba and Czar for this unexpected early insight into what looks like a greatly polished product.

@Czar - Will they let you say anything about the player create/edit screen?

from What I've seen so far, it sounds like it will be expanded yet again with addition jumpshot animations and the like. Does anything new surprise you in any way? or at least the "it's cool you can do that this year" feeling?

That kobe dunk comment for instance. I watch the lakers run a 12 iso play for kobe and put vince carter on an island. CPU kobe sizes vince up steps right crosses back to his left. The help is late and Kobe tommahawks right over Howard... It was nasty.. How else can I describe that to you.

So since I can't post the video I am just sharing with the family some of what your in store for.

I mean you have seen the videos on youtube... you can see for yourself that the cpu is a different kind of animal this year. I watched Tim Duncan give the blazers 26 in the first half because they wouldn't double team him...

Its still a video game. There are still times when you will see a warp here or the ball pass though a defender there but when I sat down for 48 minutes of basketball with NBA 2k11 what I left the experience with was not the possessions where something video gamey happened. My mind was focused on matchups and plays and turnovers and strategy...the last time that happened for ME was 2k8 prepatches...

Now I know the vets here can name off all the things wrong with 2k8.... but did that stop you from enjoying it though ? Not me !!!! LOL

put everthing you have heard about 2k11 in a basket. Improved rebounding, improved control, improved passing, improved playsystem, smoother animations, available in 3d, Jordan in game, Classic teams, Classic teams with their own accurate playbooks. over 1,000 new authentic plays, removal of lock on defense, Improved shot blocking, all the new tendencies, revamped shot stick control, Creating a legend with Jordan. Defensive shading by the cpu forcing baseline. Improved pick and roll defensive logic, Improved player control and movement on defense, defensive cut off move. Improved help defense. Tnt producer inspired presentation upgrade. rewrite of the defensive rotation system. Rewrite of the freelance offensive system, improved fast breaks, improved spacing,

As a basketball fan how could the possibilites of them adding all that to the series not cause some excitement ? LOL.

So if they do let me do something and I start sounding excited. PLEASE forgive me. LOL

well off to watch Miami play the Lakers. Enjoy your afternoon....

that was wrong wasn't it ????
Shouldn't Mickael Pietrus be guarding Kobe? Or was it because of a mis-match?

I hope in 2K11 the top defenders guard the elite offensive players. For example if Magic is playing the Lakers the lineups are:

Magic

PG Nelson
SG Carter
SF Pietrus
PF Lewis
C Howard

Lakers

PG Fisher
SG Kobe
SF Artest
PF Gasol
C Bynum

Even though Kobe and Vince start at SG, I don't want to see the AI CPU Vince guard Kobe. It should be Pietrus(SF) guarding Kobe(SG).

This happens in real life because:

-Pietrus is a much better defender than Carter.

-Stars generally don't guard the other teams star(s) because they don't want to get in foul-trouble.

Can you shed any light on this Czar?

I wish everyone had to opportunity to play a game for a few hours or days and then have everyone pound you with questions each hoping you have the elixir to life in your answer for their video game pursuit of perfection.

It's quite a different experience than sitting in your living room playing for weeks and coming up with a list of what's wrong with a game.

I agree that lower expectations are the key to a great video game experience.
No problems with over enthusiam bro...your enthusiasm is why we love you You know the games and you know basketball inside out...which makes your enthusiam + knowledge a great combination.

My only point is that if the fellas here expect a really, really good game........and not perfection.......then I'm pretty sure they are going to love 2K11.

The guys who annually hope for perfection won't ever be pleased. Today is the first day I've looked at some of the posts and there's already guys saying "what about that pass at the 3.14 mark of the sixth video? That's going to ruin the game for me"........etc.

Fellas need to relax a bit and enjoy the game

Re: The Official Da_Czar Twitter thread

Da_Czar, I have a question about the post game. In 2k10 I hard a very difficult time pulling off the running sky hook across the lane. Even if the defender gave you space sometimes a forced contact animation would result(even little guards).

Is it easier to pull off running sky hooks across the lane in 2k11? I'd love to abuse people with James Worthy.
