Presentation wise adding some stuff that continues to make franchise modes more interesting down the line is a must.

They could learn from Madden a bit in this sense. In Madden you've got the QB intro screens where they talk about their performances so far or pre game they have a matchup screen between two wide receivers or running backs etc.

As much as I love the new pre game stuff with Shaq, Kenny and EJ it would be cool to bring in some new pre game head to head stuff.

The NBA's leading scorer "Tony Smith" takes on defensive anchor "Dwight Howard" and his Houston Rockets etc. Use stats to trigger the lines so we can get presentations where the commentators talk about how dominant your superstar has been so far etc. Like how they talk about the teams struggling or absolutely killing it at the present time via the pre game show.

Would also be great to have statistical screens that pop up especially early in the game when a player might take a free throw. For example, Durant draws a foul, lines up for some free throws and then the commentators comment on his stellar season so far accompanied by some stats, or just flash some stats up. Would be great if the commentators could start referencing when players are in the hunt for an individual award too.

On this point, they've done a great job implementing the ticker which helps me cut down time on going to various menus etc to find out news, but it could be vastly improved and they could do similar things to create an experienced where you feel more immersed in it. Firstly, adding in the ticker or something similar during the game is a must. It seems with the Shaq, Kenny and EJ show, a lot of the future previews for games coming up seem to have disappeared. Bring in a ticker or news bar that can be shown during game which allows the actual mode to continue to go on even as we play. I want to see all the craziness of the NBA going on even as I play a game.

Here's a few of the displays/commentary lines that could be added for a greater experience:
- The Ticker/something similiar mid game
- Season stats early in the game when shooting free throws. In playoffs change it to playoff stats. I know I think they have something similar already but they should aim to make it more like what ESPN does in their broadcasts.
- The commentators and social media feed need to start making a big deal out of players putting up historic numbers, breaking franchise or NBA records. I mean I went on a massive winning streak with the Warriors eclipsing every other record except for the 33 straight Laker one and the commentators never made mention of it, and the tweets were just the same repetitive crap which made the streak feel real meaningless.
- Award presentations. Obviously if a player wins one of them and is in the midst of the playoffs you can even have it pre game.
- Updated commentary for generated players. I don't think it would be impossible to add in a ton of lines that can be recycled over the years to account for the change in which teams are dominant, which players are the modern day superstars etc. Allow your franchise to have commentary about a Celtics dynasty that has been created or how the next LeBron is once again having a huge night.
- Rookie picks need more commentary too. Comment on their back stories etc. Do what Madden does in its draft and expand on the whole backstory thing. Add it into the draft and then have the commentators talk about their story throughout their rookie season.

There also needs to be a lot more hype and excitement generated in these modes. Add in some commentary that accounts for the important of a #1 v #2 regular season matchup or a huge upset in the playoffs etc.

Lastly, I suggest when simming that the game turns into a TV station of sorts or something similar. Right now when you sim games you feel totally disconnected from what is going on. All you get is updates on your players injuries, the occasional trade offer or complain from a player. If Westbrook or whoever goes down with an injury that will see them miss a big deal of time, there should be newsflashes across your screen, followed with tweets reacting and perhaps the Thunder releasing a statement. Same goes for big trades, retirements etc. Right now it all feels so disconnected from the mode. Results, injuries etc never seem like that much of a big deal.

If they really want to go all out, a weekly recap show of some sort could be a great option. Doesn't even have to be fully animated really. Would love to just see something that can give you a recap on what's happening in the league. Right now unless you closely follow the transaction and injury screens and daily view you can easily miss things. Put it into a weekly/monthly recap and it would be much better. Also by now with the way teams are set to rebuilding, contending or whatever, combined with their ratings, the game should be able to far better recognise when a team is doing really poorly or when some shocking results happen as a once of or in a playoff series. Right now the game doesn't really recognise this at all. This seriously needs work. In the first year of a MyLeague with the Celtics, the Suns traded for Rudy Gay and went on a miraculous run to the finals after Steph Curry went down with a hip injury mid-series and eventually won the whole thing. This should've been a massive deal, there should be news flashes everywhere. Not just the odd tweet.

Summing up, I think there needs to be more ways to immerse the user and more ways to make it feel as though you're sitting home at TV really watching an NBA season unfold. 2K, perhaps work with some journalists and TV networks so you can best figure out how to make all the news in the association seem life like. This would be truly amazing if you can pull something like this off!

It's a simple feature but saves the time of having to sim ahead to the last day of the season, then simming the playoffs and then simming the offseason.

I think most of us have worked out that editing the Shot Tendencies of players changes how how valuable they are in the eyes of the Sim Engine - maybe even more than the Ratings.

i.e. Player X, an 80 Overall SG with 65 shot close, mid and 3's and 80 shot tendencies at all 3 distances will actually be worse for your team than Player Y, a 75 rated SG with 80 shot close, mid and 3's and 65 shot tendencies at all 3 distances. Player Y will simply score more efficiently.

My idea, then, is to have coaches with high offensive grades optimize the shot tendencies of their team's players. Example: instead of letting Kobe have an 80 3 point tendency with a rating of 67 (numbers hypothetical), if the Lakers hired say, Rick Carlisle, he would drop this tendency down to 25-30 and have Kobe shoot more shots he can make.

This could obviously work backwards, too. And could be done defensively, as an example, by lowering the foul tendencies of players who are under a good defensive coach

Come to think of it, how coachable a player is, in this regard, could be tied to their personality/a badge of some kind.

i.e. it's very hard for a coach to get through to Lance Stephenson and stop him shooting 3's, even though he is no good at them. Meanwhile, a guy like Harrison Barnes learns how to get shots he can make quickly.

More fluctuations on players ratings. For example, in the latest roster update, M. Carter-Williams has got -20 decrease on boxout rating, M. Ellis got -11 decrease on shot IQ etc.

Rarely, if not at all, do we see this amount of rating decrease or increase outside of an injury in our MyGM/Myleague.

I wish you could edit staff in the roster editor section BEFORE you start a MyGM mode.

I'd like to be able to edit the owner attributes aswell (i.e. the 5 star thing). I wanna be able to customize the NBA landscape before i go into MyGM mode, then i can fully trust it.
