Pretty impressive, I’ve got pretty good results with fouls this year too but never anything as crazy as that LA Wolves game you had lol never reached 30 free throws with a team. Probably about 20 each for both teams is the best I’ve got so far. Definitely tempted to try what you did with go for on ball steals and D Awareness to see if it gives me even more of a boost.

I’m glad you lower the impact of shot coverage significantly because I can’t even imagine trying to play with jump shot gather and release on 100 with the shot coverage at default lol.

It’s insane just how much tinkering we do have to do to get realistic fouls in 2k, I really wish they would make it a priority one year and at least give us a sim style option for those of us who don’t mine slower games with more free throws.

I'm on current gen but I used some of these ideas to modify my slider set. See my RES2 thread in this section. Pasting my current test set here.

Sundown - Let me know if you don't want these here and I'm happy to remove them.

This is still a bit of a WIP, but these are the sliders I've been testing based on Sundown2600's suggestions for improved fouls. I do see better fouling and generally like the gameplay with the higher defensive settings.

Let me know what you think.

I also have made edits to my default rosters to tweak the gameplay. See my thread for those changes. I don't want to include that detail here so as not to hijack this thread. The focus here is on the idea of increasing the defensive sliders for more fouls.

SETTINGS
Game Difficulty: Start on Pro or All Star (higher if you want a little more challenge and are OK with the minor CPU cheating at Superstar and HoF)
Game Speed: 60
Camera: Broadcast or Nosebleed (these sliders will be too easy on 2K Cam)

I just took popboys sliders and added the changes OP suggested, it seems like putting def consistency at 0 for cpu is also important, I'm now getting ~10 ft per game, even had a couple of 20 ft games, just fantastic physicality, but you will have to mess around with shot success sliders a little

How many min quarters are you playing on? These changes seem a bit drastic just to get 10FTA per game. I get that just turning all fouls to 100.

My main sticking point being the jumpshot defensive strength slider to 100. CPU struggles enough as it is to make shots, that would just be overkill IMO

Tried this last night.

Equal values for both CPU/User.

All defensive sliders = 100
Def. Awareness = 100
Def. Consistency = 0
Contest Shots = 100
All Foul Sliders = 100

I was able to draw 30 FTA. Which is teriffic. But the CPU only drew 4 FTA.....4.

The CPU had over 60 PIP and had plenty of drives/layups. Makes no sense, but ultimately makes this game frustrating. Shouldn't have to wig out the sliders just to get something as simple as fouls called.

I tried a bunch of variations on this idea and abandoned it. Too much inconsistency still and the really high defensive setting required so many offsetting changes to keep good gameplay I gave up.

Unfortunately NBA 2K is just built for online arcade play and not for realistic basketball. You gotta just be OK with the limitations for now because I have yet to see a real workable solution.
