I play these games in season mode to track accumulated stats over several games, see trends, and compare teams across the league. Here is what i see so far for my Seattle team.

Observations and implications -
  • Shooting % overall and 3pt is too high for Seattle
  • Shooting % overall and 3pt is too low for opponents
  • Too few turnovers for Seattle
  • Too few fouls for Seattle
  • Too few free throws Seattle

Planned updates -
  • Increase Contest Shots for the CPO
  • Decrease Contest shots for User
  • Increase Play Passing Lanes for both

Open to suggestions on increasing fouls (this has been an issue for years). I might increase reach in fouls...but i don't like too many of those.

Shooting % were OK but turnovers and fouls/free throws still low. Also too few 3 pointers.

I've moved on from All Star to Superstar and have been working on an updated slider set to improve turnovers and fouls. As most have stated, fouls can't really be fixed with sliders it seems based on how the game is coded, so there is only so much we can do.

I'm heading out on vacation so will be out of pocket for a little over a week. I'll post an update after doing more testing on Superstar when I get back later this month.

Here is the draft set I'm experimenting with right now. Some keys to this set (which may or may not make it to the next update) -
  • Increased body up sensitivity to give players more weight, make it harder to slide through the paint unhindered, and (hopefully) improve fouls a little (note - I don't find this higher value creates the same stickiness/collisions we saw in 2019)
  • Decreased pass accuracy and ball security to get more turnovers
  • Decreased vertical and offensive rebounding to tone down rebounding
  • Decreased lateral quickness to give players more weight and reduce sliding
  • Updated tendencies to align with other observations from posters

I tested them quickly, great job !!!

about the comments:
- stats for cpu seem nice but maybe a bit too many shoot attempts and points in the paint (but the cpu was the lakers and lebron seems to be OP in this game right now, he's only target is to dunk all the time).
- about user stats, my stats were ridiculous but I think it's because I played with a team that I don't know well yet and I don't know the hot zones of my different teamates. If it's not hot zone related, then the stats were too low (in this case, not the number of shot attempts but more the % which was close to 20% for all the shots, and around 10% for the 3 pts

Other comments:
about the strategy, do you play with auto tactics or manual one? do you follow them or do you play freely?

Thanks for the feedback.

The low user shooting % could be a few things. I am using a totally custom team (same CAPs I use for my Seattle team for several years) so I know the tendencies and hot zones well and may have over compensated by lowering the shooting sliders a tad too much. The user % may need to be a little higher for general use. Try bumping the user shooting sliders up 2-3 clicks to see how it plays.

I am finding the large # of shot attempts for the CPU (or me) is often related to to many offensive rebounds so that may still take some work.

Re: Strategy - I spend a lot of time on the playbook and use auto play calling with show all plays turned on running plays about 70% of the time. I freelance or improvise the rest. I typically run in season mode because I'm really just interested in playing the games and not the rest of the My League stuff.

Also - (as my son will tell you) I'm old and slow so I am not doing a lot of right stick dribble moves. :-)
