Re: RTTS: What's the biggest contract you have signed?

spent 1.5 years in the minors, and i'm now in my 2nd full year at the show. at 1b, i dropped 77HRs last year, went and won the world series (made it through wild card..phillies destroyed the division). signed a 3 yr $38MM contract. turned down the 8 year $100MM offer....cuz I can't imagine being stuck with the Nats for that long, but to be fair, i'm really digging Nats' stadium. Plus, I feel like I'm worth more

this is the first ever MLB game I've played since RBI baseball, no joke. i'm playing it on Veteran difficulty...and i've not messed with sliders yet, don't really understand it. and I've never bought any training points either, didn't even know you could do that till 30 mins ago, reading through these forums.

thus far this season (now in july i think), i'm behind pace to beat my RBI/HR/hits stats from last season....my runs are primarily the results of my own doing via HRs...but i'm hopeful of making the WS again - we're actually 1.5 games ahead of the phillies

Ive found a good way to improve your player, save all ur training points till the end of the month, obviously use them for your advancement goals but keep the rest saved up, then make sure you train all areas so u dont start decreasing and then wack all the rest of your points on one area, ive being doing it, and putting them all on speed, ive gone from around having a speed of 38 to around 58 now!!
Yeah I've been passing every other set of goals so I'm doing ok on my goals. I just hope I can turn things around. In the minors I was doing great always having an average above .330.

I feel like a bust lol.

Re: Road to the Show 2010 discussions, impressions, and questions

I probably should move on from Veteran to All Star difficulty. I batted .465 in my 1st season at the Show, and now my in my second season I'm still batting .420ish. My biggest problem is that the .580 that I'm not getting a hit, I probably strike out 70% of the time. I always fail the strike out goals, but my manager showers me with praise cuz I meet the others...so I continue to whiff away :P

Re: Road to the Show 2010 discussions, impressions, and questions

Sometimes I just don't get RTTS. I have an elite SP (ranked #1 in the MLB), with 95-99 in every relevant rating (all X/9 and pitch ratings), but I'm still getting shelled every game. In my last year (before I got to be ranked #1), I went 23-4 with a 1.54 ERA and 230+ K's, but this year I've had 5 starts and given up 5 or more ER in 3 of them, all in the first 2 innings. I could understand being in a slump, and maybe giving up 2-3 ER a game, but 5 in 2 innings every game? It always happens where I get 2 outs, and then I can't buy the third out and give up 2-3 runs. Rinse, repeat for the next inning.

Re: Road to the Show 2010 discussions, impressions, and questions

I hadn't played in over a week so I thought I'd give 'er a go this morning. First batter I walked and I thought, "Uh oh, it's going to get ugly fast." No so much. Started to get on a role after that and ended up with my first ever No-No. 3BB so not a perfect game. Also had base-runners to deal due to an error and I hit a guy in the foot trying to get him to chase on a 0-2 count.

Best moment came in the 7th inning, and I didn't even know this was in the game. I'm through 7 1/3 and the batter just drills one high and deep. It shows the behind the homeplate homerun camera. I thought for sure it was gonzo. As it continues to rise you can see it drifting and it appears to go foul past the pole. They rule it foul but then they umps gather and go for a review. First time I've ever seen this and it's happening in a game where I'm 8 outs away from a no hitter. They show a replay, I have no idea what they're going to call. They come back out, foul ball. Whew!

9IP, 3BB, 8SO, 115NP, ZERO HITS!
