Thanks Knight.

I remember controlling all 30 teams in 2011 (skipped 2012) and had an issue with the scoreboards. For some reason, my game was the only one appearing in the ticker which really killed the authenticity. Did I bugger something up, or will that happen again?

You have to sim all other games on that day before playing your game.

Knight doesn't usually make a version 3, although usually someone makes a version 3 with pitch edits and SCEA player rating/equipment edits. In the past I remember them being released maybe 1-2 months after V.2

It's because when controlling all teams...the game thinks you want to play them.
Like sink said....go to the schedule and pick a day...then got to VIEW TODAY'S GAMES.....and sim the ones you don't want to play(and have the updates come on the ticker and scoreboards)...
I've been asking for a check box option(to sim the games when you go play) instead of doing manually(but alas...).....as you have to figure a way to hide the team logo on left to keep from seeing the game winner in advance(I use my feet up on the desk)...

I have to remember to ask the dev team to give us the option to do that.

Thanks guys. Great info in this thread.

What are the pros/cons of playing Spring Training? Will player ratings change much if I play through it versus simming to April?

Pros:
- Get used to your players, choose who you want on your MLB roster like the real teams do in spring training.
- Get used to the pitches your pitchers have and choose your rotation/bullpen based off of who you are comfortable pitching well with.
- See the spring training stadiums
- Use the spring training/warm up uniforms.

Cons:
- Progression changes the same regardless of whether you play or sim.
- Very time consuming
