Little speed? Wow...have you caught a Tigers game? Rod Allen would tell you to "slow down big fella"! Jackson has some wheels, he's not Jose Reyes, but he's got wheels. And speed does not slump my friend. I'm saying all this in good fun, you are spot on about the average of balls put in play...he's averaging almost a strikeout per game, which makes you scratch your head about the .370 BA straight away. I just have a hard time seeing anyone on that list rated an A over A-Jax, but I'm in for whatever, just passing the time with some friendly debate.

Just for the record, I didn't use Wikipedia. I remember hearing that he was born in New York years ago. I followed him very closely when he was at Vanderbilt. I did check his Vanderbilt bio and it says that he was born in New york, but it doesn't state where specifically. I thought he was born in the Bronx, but I just checked and I couldn't find anything other than he went to prep school in the Bronx and, before that, he went to school in Harlem.

I never use Wikipedia for source information of any kind. In the interest of full disclosure, I did use Wikipedia earlier to check the rosters for the 2009 Futures Game to make sure that Pedro was on the U.S. team.

I was going to create Poythress as the B...but Marte is a good looking player also.
As much as I like Poythress, I couldn't disagree if Marte was given the B. I would still have to choose Poythress, though.

Not all of them would agree.

I wouldn't bet on that. As for his speed and power, he has plus speed and more power than most people realize.

It's difficult to only choose one out of those players. I would give it to Jackson, Frazier or Lawrie. My first choice is Jackson and my second choice is a toss up between Frazier and Lawrie.

Jackson pretty much is what it is with him especially him now being an SCEA guy. I would probably take a B player and take SCEA's ratings and create him being that he is a CAP. As far as Ramos is concerned, he does play a scarce position and has a good arm with good power. Lawrie plays a position where power needs to be prominent and power he has. I say do whatever suits your needs Mike. I am becoming more and more impressed with Everett Williams and Trayce. At this point I am too busy with the draft that I am starting to wonder what we are gonna do with the set next month? We will be adding a ton of new prospects.

Not sure about lining up pitches....I just go with what I read....which does vary from one to another ....a LOT. Heck...some guides list or don't list a pitch...while the other has the opposite....it'll drive you nuts!

Hey thanks for acknowledging that Ramos deserves a bump... felt like I was arguing with some people just for mentioning it yesterday.

I had another idea.
Tyler Flowers, Tony Sanchez, Travis d'Arnaud, Adam Moore, and Hank Conger are all catchers ranked below Ramos on BA's top 100 prospects (in that order--meaning Flowers is the closest to Ramos). I haven't checked them all in the rosters, but I know that Flowers has an A rating. Maybe you could give an A rating from a lower ranked catcher to Ramos?

Ksig is right that Ramos won't see much playing time in the majors this year, but the reason is a guy named Joe Mauer. At 22 years old Ramos obviously has a lot to work on especially with his hitting after going 1-18 since starting the season with 7 hits in his first two games.

A worse team without a batting champ/MVP catcher might just be playing this guy every day in the major leagues in spite of his learning curve. The reason that he will be in the minors is that the Twins are stacked with catching and want Ramos to play every day, not be a backup.

Drew Butera will remain Mauer's backup until Jose Morales gets his injury stuff taken care of and proves in the minor leagues that he is ready to back up Mauer again. Morales will replace Butera at some point. Ramos will be starting for Rochester all season because he needs the playing time.

It would be sweet if this set came out soon.

I understand you guys are in a tough spot due to potential being locked. But if you can find a way to make it work without shortchanging a more deserving player, it'd be great. With FMv1, the Bucs didn't have much after Alvarez, Tabata & Sanchez -- which is mostly accurate -- so having a Marte as a diamond in the rough would be cool.

Can't wait for the finished product!
