I had trouble stealing against anyone besides Joba (haven't faced Petitte). His motion home is so tediously slow that I actually stole 3rd standing up with Rollins. However, I had trouble timing the jump against everyone else so I was thrown out every single time. It seems like you're going to have to almost guess when to let go of the LT so you can actually make it without being hosed.

I hope this is due to the DEMO being on Pro and that once you up the difficulty, fielding will be more user controlled. If anything, I pray that there's an option to turn off fielding assist if this isn't the case. I won't mind it for awhile, but after that 10th CPU fielding error without my imput, I'll get a little peeved.

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)

Well, i have played this demo quite a bit and everything has been fine, till tonight. I just just had my first AI glitch that cost me an out, plus some other weird stuff in just 3 games with the demo tonight, out of the probably 90 innings total i've played since it was released.

A medium hit ball got hit to A Rod, guy on 2nd tries to take 3rd with nobody on 1st(bad ai decesion) then i try to manually tag him out and and he just freezes while the runner passes him by and gets to 3rd standing up. This really worries me because this was the first play out of all the games i've played to make a manual tag in the IF and this happens.

Then i got the exact same play that was posted in a video by Chase where the pitcher is nailed by a line drive and it ricochets off his head and he catches it in mid-air. Except this ball hits him in the mid-section and he caught it before it hit the ground. It would have made sense if it showed him bobbling the ball and then catching it or just ricocheting off of him.

On top of this, for the first time i got this real wacky animation with Jeter where he goes to field a regular ground ball hit right at him and he turns his back and runs to the OF and fields it between his legs and throws it to 1st, all in one motion. I have over-looked some of these animations, but these 2 were just too much.

So then i try to intentionally make some easy throws just for the heck of it, by letting go before the meter gets to the green and the game doesn't allow it. It automatically snaps it to the green. I just don't get this throwing meter. All the players seem to have the same throwing meter that goes at the same speed. It looks like people with less accurate arms should have either a smaller green area to make a perfect throw, or the meter ought to go faster.

One last thing, since i learned about pre-loading throws i strated to do it all the time. It works well in the OF, but it seems like nearly 50% when i do it in the IF it leads to some bad animations, especially the one where the SS leaps in the air and throws it across his body to first, in the air, all the time. It probably caused that other animation i described earlier with Jeter. I have yet to see a one hopper thrown to 1st by anyone in the IF. I have also yet to commit an error?.

The wow factor i got with this game early on is really starting to wear off fast, just like 2K9. I think i've went from a must buy to a wait and see.

If 2K8 or 2K9 are any indication this won't be the case as there were no manual/assist fielding settings and changing difficulty did nothing.

I'd love to be proven wrong though.

Just remember, the difficulty for the DEMO is on pro. Many of the non-graphical mishaps you are seeing may be due to this, like perfect throws, etc. Also, when playing a 3 inning demo 30+ times, you're bound to see some mistakes because you're going to start looking for them. No game is perfect, especially a demo, which was dumbed down for an easier download and for the players to get a feel for some of the new features. So, of course it's going to look a little worse and have some problems. I have no basis on this, but this was probably the build they had back in late december. No reason to nitpick a demo, imo. But since 2k9 was so utterly horrible, I can see why some of you feel this way and totally understand where you're coming from. I stopped buying EA and 2k college basketball games for similar doubt.

^^Yea, maybe you're right. I don't what the heck happened tonight, but it's got me really questioning some of the ai decesions that plagued 2K9. I'm getting tired of seeing some of the goofy animations also, but i was better off before not pre-loading throws in the IF. Things looked a lot better. I haven't lost hope, but i'm going to wait on some reviews and opinions before i buy.

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)

Ok, I'm starting to really grow concerned here. I've now played about 21 innings, playing the offense for both sides, so essentially I've had 42 innings of at bats. I have 2 hits, both singles, mostly using the contact swing but occaisionally the power swing when ahead in the count with a good hitter. I've only put the ball in play 5 times. FIVE TIMES in 42 innings.

How is this even possible on pro? Its not my first time using the swing stick. In years past it was way too easy to make contact with the swing stick. I have no idea what's going wrong.

The worst part is, I can't pinpoint whats wrong. My swings are either "VERY LATE" or "VERY EARLY"... even when no message pops up, which I suppose means I timed it right, I just swing right through the ball.

I've tried classic, and it is easier to make contact, but it's insanely boring since they took out the zone aspect.

I have spent 2 months lurking message boards getting excited about this game and after playing this demo, I am seriously %#@$%! off about this. I don't know if it's the camera or not. For a few innings I spent just watching the pitches come in, and I swear, you can't differentiate and off speed pitch or a fast ball, and you can barely tell the difference between a breaking ball and a fast ball. It was never like this in 2k before, which makes me wonder if its all the camera angle. Maybe an off center angle will help with the timing, but I'm really fishing here for a positive spin on this.

I can't believe after all the time I've spent checking the 2k site and forum since January that I'm actually contemplating not getting this game. I may break down and get a PS3. I just can't believe it.

^^^I think you just need some more practice hitting, but i've heard a few others having trouble hitting also. I can definetly tell i will need to raise it to AS.
