Damn the presentation on next gen sounds like it's gonna be sick.

Yes it does. But it made me chuckle when he said the current platform had memory limitations which is why the sidelines were " static".

Really??? I know of another game that managed to do it quite well, lol.

But I do like the better crowds and such..

That game had no franchise mode though. I'm no programmer, but i'm guessing a mode like that takes up a lot of memory.

Re: Official Madden 25 E3 Video Thread

**sigh** So I'm playing the NCAA demo (which is surprisingly pretty good btw) and I notice that the accel clock stays on even when it's under 2 min in the 2nd qtr. Whoa, I say to myself. This is something that we've been asking for Madden for years. Maybe EA listened and added this into their football games this year. So I come to look at the NCAA vids, which JP has so elegantly organized as well, to make sure this is real and, sure enough, in the vids, the accel clock keeps running under 2 min. Then I decide to check these Madden vids to see if it's the same and in true EA fashion it's not there. WTF man? I feel like someone at EA Tiburon is getting some kind of kick out of messing with our head. Like this is some kind of psychological study to see how much frustration the masses can take before they crack. We've been asking for this since Ian brought accel clock back in Madden 10. So why in the hell, would they put it in NCAA and not in Madden? This gen of Madden has to be some kind of experiment. There is no other explanation that I can think of that would explain the decisions that have been made during this gen. I just don't understand. /rant

**Despite the rant, goes back to playing the NCAA demo to prepare for Madden's release**

You can't compare franchise mode memory to graphics/sideline interaction. Two different things. The other argument is silly too about APF having interactive sidelines. Their player models were weaker and the polygon counts low. The detail in the Madden players is a lot higher. 2K could achieve active sidelines because the rest of the graphics engine wasn't using up a ton of power. While playing there is only so much power and RAM the programmers have access to. EA chose to put all of it in the player models and there isn't enough left over for sideline stuff in current gen.

Do people forget how long it took just to get the PS3 versions of EA football to run in 60 fps? Anyone remember how ugly APF looked on a PS3? Anyone remember how long it took for NCAA to get Bama's numbers to show up during gameplay? How about chain gangs? Football gameplay requires a lot of horsepower and they have maxed it out on the field for graphics. It's taken them years to squeeze out a few extra small things. Sidelines and crowds aren't small things. That doesn't excuse the AI issues imo but graphically EA can't add sidelines and crowds without reducing the player quality.

well said....anyone remember some of those '06 interviews with David Ortiz bragging about stadium detail?!?!......he actually boasted about water fountains in the concourse of stadiums being in the stadium models. #SoMisguided
