MLB The Show has this nailed. If you hit a homerun and don't press a button the batter rounds the bases real time, they don't show it all, because they show the pitcher getting the ball, looking disgusted with himself or what ever and they cut to the runner as he is rounding 3rd, they cut to one runner crossing the plate, then back to the batter rounding home, cut to the crowd, and finally the runner crosses the plate and high fives his teammates. Its all done in real time and looks and feels amazing.

Matter of fact the only "cut scenes" in the game are when you don't use the controller, your pitcher is being checked out after a line drive, and calls to the bull pen.

That was a bad cutscene altogether because it was so disjointed; the RB could be WAY down the field, and in a second later, he's back in the huddle. Smh...

Judging from what I've seen thus far, it still appears there's no broadcast camera work pre play at any time a user is on defense. That was the case in M13 and I hated it!

I can't stand Tiburon's approach to presentation. Instead of allocating resources to create on/offs, THEY decide how we'll take in presentation. End result: the presentation misses the mark yearly (save for M12) because the presentation is put together with the button masher in mind.

It makes too much sense to make the presentation true to the sport and have appropriate on/offs.

Amen Amen Amen. Presentation will never be good in Madden as long as they have this "they don't watch it anyway" attitude. This attitude has bled into every aspect of the game, I hope it goes away this next gen with this "new team".

Agree. I get tired of that thought process. They added the 3d men in the booth and did a pretty good job of pre-game with M13 and I still watch it. I skip the terrible replays. If they do quality, TV style presentation people will watch.

At this point, being 2013 and new consoles, it's not even about on/offs anymore but having things play out in real time regardless, giving gamers options about what to do/view in the meantime. I stated this recently in another post but it's time for this whole "rush" through a game approach to go because those transitions and processes that Tiburon is currently omitting are vital to representing football well.

If some gamers don't want to look at replays, cut scenes and what not, then allow them to get into the play call screen faster to go start preparing for the next play but don't time warp or skip the process of in-game players getting into position. The lacking presentation is just a byproduct of this lingering effect of just getting things in and getting it over with. If they were accounting for these elements then they would naturally have to account for what the in-game players are doing during them, which would segue into making sense to have the camera focus on those things, in real time, rather than cut scenes.

I honestly think Cam, Kolbe, ChaseB and this new group are trying to change some of this stuff, I just have no idea how long that will take to fully happen, if ever.

I agree. I actually think this is a deal breaker for me, although to be fair, I'm putting all my eggs into the next gen basket.

But from what I've seen so far, a lot of these post-play cut scenes are the same as last year. And on top of that, they don't even have that many--it's the same shots of guys huddling up or the RB sauntering back to the huddle as last year.

To me, that got old real quick in Madden 13, and they've done nothing to upgrade that aspect of presentation, so I feel sort of...numbed or bored by the game in a way, because this hasn't been improved at all. And as mentioned before, the biggest problem is it's not true broadcast. They got it right in Madden 12 (or mostly right), but for whatever reason, have decided to backtrack with these bland, repetitive scenes.

In all, the game is just overly rushed. I know we live in an "instant" culture, but I don't want to pay $60 for a game to rush me. I understand presentation being rushed when playing a 50 cent arcade football game, but not one that costs as much as Madden.

They also decide what they feel presentation should be like. Remember their slogan was "Beyond Broadcast" or something like that. They stated this is they feel the NFL should be portrayed on a video game. It baffles me how they spend time and money with CBS and NFL Films and then hardly replicate what we would see on Sunday.

Replays for example sometimes just make no sense. They don't flow like you would see on a regular broadcast.

I agree with Rgiles as well. It would make much more sense to add a toggle for presentation. Just turn it off to appease the head to head crowd or people who just want to get through a game in a short period of time.

I want to be immersed in my franchise game, but I find it hard to enjoy the presentation aspects of the game (mainly because they are redundant and have no substance to them).

Plus, I hate that if I hit A to rush my players to the line or start making adjustments the Stat Banners go away.

Also, why do the small stat lines (attached to the score bug) stop working under 2 minutes in each half

I agree. I had a hard time playing NCAA last year, but this year it looks better. From a presentation stand point and game play.. I love the stats that pop up after every play. The TD replays that show off who scored the TD.
