Try making a move like that in Madden 13.
I wonder with the TSO will players be looked at as football players instead of a positions, for example since WE CAN'T EDIT will a specific 4-3 DE be rating high in a 3-4 scheme as a OLB on a depth chart? How about DT's to DE's

How about that rookie CB that fits the mold of a potential good SS?

HB's to WR? FB to TE's???

My gut says no because it wasn't the case in HC09 if I remember correctly.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head

"After some discussion, we agreed that Franchise mode is yours to control and that we needed to give you the ability to edit the ratings of any player in Franchise mode, whether they are veterans or the rookies you just imported from NCAA Football."

Clearly CC isn't yours to control, I just hope that in some possible way they can have it it. Makes me wonder if they took the edit out so you would HAVE to purchase the next series of Madden instead of just updating rosters and playing through using other user created rosters (even some users opening day rosters are more accurate that EA's official release so its no wonder people would be concerned to trust ONE GUY!).

You would have to be slightly ignorant if you think that technology isn't available or can't be implemented.

In reference to 2k and the NBA series, look at how they have a league wide info feed across teams, players, coaches and are informed just like how CC will be in EA. In this series, you have pretty much FULL customization from shoes, attributes and even signature moves both before, or during your "franchise". This isn't some new ground breaking tech that was just released this year.

EA should just address this in a proper professional manner, a tweet "stating not enough time" just doesn't cut it for me to be honest.

A player's number rating won't change. Speed stays the same, block shed, tackling, etc... How a team rates them overall does. So a middle LB can play outside and be successful at the position, meet goals and progress, I don't think the labeled position matters. An 3-4 OLB with speed doesn't make a 4-3 DE because his position changed. It's because some guys have the skill set and from what I can tell a guys skill set won't change.

I've seen someone on Facebook, who I doubt has ever bought a sports game, comment that the Kinect stuff has him "actually considering playing a football game"

It's an appeal to casual gamers, which should come as no surprise to anyone at this point

Have tried it. Was in a online franchise for a while. I don't find it enjoyable.

Different strokes....

The more you read quotes from last years release about how important they know editing is to us players the more it frustrates me that it is not in this years game. I truly find it unacceptable and it is making this a non purchase for me.

Myself as well Saint. I tried one with a group of friends. I just couldn't get into it man. I don't knock everyone who does enjoy it but I don't think ill ever be able to get into online leagues.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head

Yes there's been different development houses, with hundreds if not thousands of different people working on the Madden franchise, but still, Electronic Arts has been making Madden for 20 plus years, they should know that there are certain core features that simply never should be omitted from any version of the game, no matter what else is added.

I'm thinking that they were legitimately caught off guard by the outcry over some of the "little things" left out this first iteration of CC. That some of their key designers were either unaware, or ever worse, didn't care that they were going to completely destroy the gaming experience for many of their long standing customers, is disconcerting.

I know they're thinking long term/big picture, but they're rolling the dice. Will enough new people be drawn in by the new goodies, to offset the loss of those who have been ostracized to the point of a non purchase. I think they were wrong to make the call they did, but I'm one who doesn't have an entrepreneurial bone in my body. Objectively, they probably made the right play.

Who would have thought that gameplay would ever become the forgotten issue when trying to navigate the maelstrom of the Madden board.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
