Well, sure, but that's been the refrain for years now.

They've started from scratch three times in the last four years.

That doesn't engender a whole lot of confidence going forward.

So they didn't do anything with commentary with last year's game. In fact, they had Chris calling Gus Tom at times. So are you saying that they did absolutely nothing all of last year and the year before on commentary and audio? If that's the case then that is what makes folks pretty irate around here. They claimed that the reason they didn't have good audio last year was because they were hard at work on this new "ground breaking" technology for it. Sigh...

I just wish another studio would get a shot at making our only football game. Maybe EA will switch the shop and contract someone from the outside.

I think it's becoming increasingly hard to compare this year to any year prior just because of, and I hate to say it, June 4th. In any previous year, I feel like we would have gotten a fairly good chunk of Nantz-Simms commentary. Instead, it felt like we got a 'playbook reveal' that was extremely watered down because of the fact that they're hiding so much. Even when they played the crowd noise, they wouldn't even show that with an actual play. Like it's been said before, June 4th is the date. After that we should be well aware of everything.

No man you don't understand how it works, sometimes when you invest in new technology it isn't actually noticed until the game after. Just because they invested in the new tech last year doesn't mean it was a part of Madden 12. Anyway, the commentary in Madden 13 is brand new, and the technology running the commentary is brand new, nothing is recycled from last year. That hasn't been the case with Madden commentary on any current gen game.

There's a big difference between now and then, first of all, they didn't start from scratch at any time in the last four years they were still using the old commentary tech and engine, i.e. Cris calling Gus "Tom" still. Commentary wise the issue hasn't been the commentators themselves, but rather the engine that was running the commentary and the stitching of it.

This is also the first Madden that they have had the commentators record together, HUGE deal.

Just wait for Madden 13 to get finished and you will notice the difference.

Yeah I recall them actually saying the new audio technology was not used in Madden 12

Im still confused as to how we are talking about INTROS as a reason to believe the bland commentary was from an "old" mix. Madden 12 had REALLY good intros the first 3 times you heard them and it seems Madden 13 is falling into the same trap. Its not hard to do a scripted intro. Like I said before, GAMEPLAY commentary left me unimpressed, hopefully June 4th things change.
