Re: Can We Talk About The Running Game?

I haven't played enough against the AI to tell if they can run much against me (only AI games have been the Draft Champions games which are 3 minute quarters so they rarely run). But I've run on them very successfully. I basically haven't used turbo unless I get into the open field. I generally use L2 to do a sort of stutter step while I figure out where the hole is and then cut into it while holding R1 (covers the ball and allows you to slide through the holes better). I'm enjoying the run game a lot.

I do have one question though. It says that holding L2 & R2 together changes running speed. Has anyone tested this out to see what exactly it does? I tried to do it a bit but didn't notice much; it may have allowed me to slow down a bit while I dissect the defense, but I'm not sure if it was just placebo effect or not.

I find the running game different this year, it takes while to get used to the controls.

BTW, CPU Adrian Peterson on Allpro ran for 111 yards 5.5 ypc against me last night.

Re: Can We Talk About The Running Game?

multiple things to take in to account when judging the run game

how good is the defense and defenders

how good is your oline and scheme

play calling and what not

....

i like the run game but it still has some adjustments to make... i still get caught up behind my oline and running into their back but other than that its good

the organic tackling made the run game so much better

Re: Can We Talk About The Running Game?

i only play all madden or custom sliders to make game realistic ... but running is tough .. play the tutorials and learn what to watch for .. madden tries to teach football 101 its very good advice
1 tip dont use sprint..****n and follow the holes and blockers.. use sprint only when u are past the DL or DE on sweeps

In the skills trainer it seemed like a really useful tool. In games it makes me stutter step. Not sure what im doing wrong.

I know stutter step is when you tap L2. I'll have to go in the trainer and try out the L2 + R2 thing.

Re: Can We Talk About The Running Game?

I moved tackling to 45 and run blocking to 55 and it's done wonders on pro and all pro both..
