But that's the thing. Don't you think it's about time we should start expecting that? I mean for the last decade or so we've been getting nothing but excuse after excuse. It was "we're limited by the hardware space" or we have a new 3 year plan after the previous 3 year plan we just had" etc...The thing is we should expect the game to progress much faster this gen because quite frankly they're out of excuses & they have the power needed in these consoles to do it.

I'm sure EA knows this & I do believe the game will eventually get to where we want it. My problem is that it's still progressing at a snails pace on purpose by EA. They know that they have the luxury of the exclusive license so in essence Madden is like videogame crack & we are the addicts waiting for that next hit lol. EA knows they're the only pusher on the block so they have us cornered. When we have people saying "I don't expect EA to make a great game" or "I just accept Madden for being mediocre", that is exactly the defeatist mentality that EA wants you to have. They've subconsciously beat you down over the years that you don't even care anymore while still purchasing the product.

My question is.....with EA being the best at marketing...Madden football has been very, very quiet....After E3 last year, there were madden videos of different games and teams everywhere but now, its very hard to find any....is this a bad or good game......are they cooking up a miracle or afraid to get exposed based on what happened to nba live?

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? Just look at the 1st play. No one runs like that. Too robotic. Look at the "physics" they say they have. Not good at all. You need glasses

Madden is done and dusted my man... just like any other year except this year they don;'t have a back of the box fetaure to pump themselves up. Pathtic effort by Tiburon.

No no JP. You are confusing games because little things is not what people care about.

We've been asking for actual football, save the little things until they have that down.

They keep dumbing down the infinity engine every year, last year they added more animation base tackling within the infinity engine and this year they added suction back. I believe that's why victor lugo left because the we're killing his vision and his work.

The suction this year is killing the tackling you can see as soon as the CPU calculation deems the play to be over base on animation used every defender on the field stops engaging even tho the play is not over and you get the skip, hop out of the way animation like the old days. It just irritated me so much back when Rex Dickson in the press row podcast said that they needed suction tackling to make the tackling easier in the game.

Let me get back to you on what Rex said because I know for a fact he didn't say they added suction tackling to make the game easier.

For me though, everything on that list you just typed could potentially be a "wow." It all depends on the implementation. I think that's where the lack of "wow" comes into being for many people.

There have also been requests for realistic animations forever, from all over the net. I think that would be very much a "wow" for just about anybody.

Example. The long run by Kap. There was a replay in the vid. When you look at the run you see how bad the animation is when he is running up the sideline. He looks like he is coasting as easily as he would if he were jogging in the March of Dimes. There is not the slightest indication that he is Sprinting, let alone even running hard enough to break a sweat. If that run looked realistic and looked like he was actually hauling ***, and he looked back at the pursuing defenders or at the jumbotron or something, that would be a pretty "wow" moment to me. I would imagine it would be to you too. It isn't like the run animation is completely missing, so it isn't adding anything. It's just the implementation that determines the "wow."

Again, I don't want to get hung up on that. Just saying don't take someone saying that they aren't wowed to mean that they want something that is fluff or that it needs to be some truly mind blowing innovation. It can be as big or as small as any of the things on your list or any others that aren't on it. It's all in the implementation.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this in bold. I think the reason why Madden doesn't have that WOW factor is because all players play like they are playing in a charity event or something like half speed. There is no sense of urgency when running, it doesn't look like they are sprinting for their lives. Take a look at this run by Kap, the way he runs looks like he's running for his life.

For me, if they change the robotic animations to smooth organic animations that would be a WOW factor for me. I also think that is why Madden has that same stale feel to it. Cause we've seen the same animations now for about a decade that are robotic and clunky.

I think I understand where you are coming from, with this being Madden and Tiburon making it feel like there can only be either or at a time but man, it shouldn't have to be that way. Gameplay fixes and "little things"/attention to detail should be advancing separately but both advancing year over year. In fact, the little things should be advancing way more, imo, because they seemingly don't have the same coding limitations as the gameplay fixes.
