I button press in all sports games just because I don't have the time. I have three very active kids and time with gaming has become limited.

Options all around are great to have for all types of gamers.

"Why would they bother" what, interacting with the whole forum, that particular post/poster, even reading any forums at all? I'm trying to get some clarity because I don't want to take your post out of context but I don't get the justification for extremes. I just made a post addressing the same tactic used in-game in reference to presentation, some don't bother with it so Tiburon doesn't focus on it. Seems like the same extreme being espoused in relation to devs interacting with forums, if everyone posting isn't uniform and in agreement, the devs won't bother. That's being petty and unreasonable, this is a message board, not an actual vocal public forum where people can scream out obscenities or physically attack someone.

I notice people hark back to how things went when Ian interacted on OS about Madden and going back to look at it, I think that "mistreatment" gets blown out of proportion too. Again, this is a adequately moderated message board, where any blatantly offensive posts/posters are dealt with, no need to avoid the boards entirely. Chase B and DCEBB have carried on entire Madden threads where the interact with OS about their personal work, even with those that disagree with it, without taking their ball home.

It's like some people want there to be special rules for approaching Madden and those affiliated with creating it, that gets propagated at times. I refuse to accept that notion and hold Madden and its' staff to the same basic standard of other sports sims and their staff.

I can understand that Road but presentation and how long the game takes actually shouldn't be directly intertwined. That's some skewed notion EA Tiburon came up with, that some people just accept when it comes to Madden, like a host of other things. What should correlate to the length of the game is quarter length, not all this other stuff EA Tiburon has fabricated. They take a reasonable concept like "options" and twist it to justify stuff that defies common sense.

To be clear, I'm not saying that there shouldn't be options for presentation, I stated there should be in my other post. I'm just saying those should be primarily for visual customization, not shortening the length of games.

C'mon JP, you know full well interactive sidelines and foot planting are touted as features inherent to the Ignite Engine, which is shared tech for all EA Sports games. So to suggest these improvements in Madden somehow came about through the EAGC's website is a stretch, at best. EA Tiburon does WTF they want to do with Madden and we are generally just along for the ride, lol.

im referring only to people who dont offer anything constructive, by just saying "madden sucks, 2k8 was better" and i think thats what the poster i quoted was also saying. but when half the posts dont actually say anything useful, it can get frustrating.

now in your case, you posted your issue, and then gave logical reasoning to back it up. i have no problem at all with that. in fact, i would encourage it, because thats how it gets done. but for example if i grill a steak for someone, and they just say "it sucks, my wife makes it better" does that help me make a better steak next time? the same goes for someone saying "it was great". what about it was great? it obviously isnt perfect, so tell me what i should keep and what i should change.

Options are the way to go..they should be able to add a toggle switch for presentation or no presentation elements.

As for not having time, I m glad the next gen have the ability to save games. For the life of me I never figured out why EA failed to put that in this gen (except they really cater to the online and head to head guys)

I button mash through a lot now, not only because I have a kid who wants to play my xbox, but most of the cut scenes arent very good.

That's exactly what my post that you replied to was saying.

And Big F'n Deal: I'm not saying there should be board uniformity; far from it. I know that Chase & others interacted with negative posters. But when someone comes out recently (I think it was Rex? Or was it Clint?) and basically says "insulting us makes us not want to interact", then I have to assume that is the stance of all Madden developers. Until stated otherwise, when 1 of them speaks they speak for everyone.

When someone says "I'll take 2K8 over Madden any day", don't think it's better to include WHY they feel that way? And perhaps back it up with examples? There's a great thread on here asking "Are challenges broken?" The guys in there are not saying "the challenge system sucks! Fix it!" They are giving actual explanations of what happened to them in their games. That is good information, should a dev decide to check it out.

I listed you in my original post as a member here who always goes out of his way to back up what he's talking about. I just wish every poster did the same.

Re: Madden 25 Next-Gen Living Worlds Trailer

As far as constructive criticism involving comparisons to other games, what else do we have to compare Madden to besides 2K football games? Other than real life football, there is no alternative, which is why we use the other game to point out what it has done better. We all want to stop talking about the "other" game, but until Madden has done everything better than what we had 8 years ago, those comparisons will never go away. I think they should WANT to do better than that 8 year old game instead of turning away criticism concerning it compared to their current product.
