Devin Hester

They say he will not be returning Kickoffs this year.
Should that lessen his value? and should we draft him even lower than the ADP shows about 91st about the 6th round?

Re: Devin Hester

In my league he didn't get drafted until the 8th round. His value isn't lookin quite as good without kickoffs, so drafting him later might be a good idea(if you draft him at all) But don't count him out, he could certainly be a sleeper.

Really, my suggestion would be to not draft him at all, you only have so many spots on your roster and Hester isn't worth one of those spots IMO.
Obviously its up to you though, as it's your team.

He could turn out to be a good receiver now that Cutler is around. There were a few times last year that he had his coverage burned and Orton couldnt get the ball to him.

good point. he's a decent receiver, he just needs a good quarterback who can get him the ball. it's hard to say how it'll be this year with Cutler.

Re: Devin Hester

not returning kicks should make him MORE valuable in fantasy. he's not that great of a WR so the less other things he has to worry about the more he can focus on getting better. imo, Cutler's not enough to make him an every week starter so I won't be taking him unless he really drops in my drafts, but I'd expect more out of him now than when he was doing kickoffs, punts and trying to be the #1 option.

I think that Mac should have clarified that in our deep league return yardage counts like receiving yards. I know it's unconventional, but it's what allows us to have such a deep league.

Re: Devin Hester

I've been in a league like that... definitely an interesting twist and obviously gives Hester more value. Yeah, losing KO return duty would put a dent in that though. It'd be better if he kept that and didn't return punts.

With the new wedge rules, are KO yards going to loom as large?
