Re: Curse Of Chucky

I thought these were some of the cheesiest, most ridiculous movies I had ever seen.

...and why does a little girl get a boy doll to play with?

I hate Chucky. It was just a horrible series of movies IMO.

Re: Curse Of Chucky

Ehhhh, honestly they should have just stopped after the initial trilogy. Bride of Chucky was horrendous and I didn't even bother with Seed of Chucky. You could make the case for fear in the first 3 movies, but starting with Bride of Chucky it just became borderline comedy in my opinion.

The fact that it is going straight to Blu-ray should say it all.

Re: Curse Of Chucky

The first one was actually a really solid horror film. The rest of them were all pretty bad, though.

In any event, the series was inspired by an episode of The Twilight Zone called Living Doll which starred Telly Savalas and aired back in 1963. This particular episode is more terrifying than any of the Child's Play films IMO.

Fun fact: The voice of "Talky Tina" was done by June Foray, who is famous for doing the voice of both Rocket J. Squirrel and Natasha Fatale in the classic Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons.

Speaking of Serling's stuff, if you wanna see a scary *** doll episode, watch "The Doll" (not The Doll of Death) aired on "The Night Gallery" in 1973. It's just a good story, too.

Unfortunately, I can't find it on Hulu. Soooooo........

Night Gallery was a pretty hit or miss show, but The Doll (which aired in 1971 actually) was a fantastic segment.

John Williams was my favorite character actor of that era and he is always a pleasure to watch. He actually was in my absolute favorite episode of Night Gallery as well; The Caterpillar.
