Your Most Overrated Movie Ever

Just for sh*t and giggles.

That one 1 movie your just so tired of hearing about how great it is. Because you know, deep down, everyone else is wrong and your right and it sucks.

[edit:] Let me clarify, to be overrated a movie has too be considered, at least, somewhat of a financial and critical success.

Ill get things going with:
you all know where this is going

the Dark Knight. this could be the best movie in the past 50 years (its not) and it still wouldnt live up to the fawning praise. Im waiting for Charlton Heston to come down from the mountain and throw stone tablets at it.

Re: Your Most Overrated. Movie. Ever.

I can't think about "ever" but The Dark Night was certainly overrated and it is pretty comical how much buzz a Batman movie has been getting. I feel Ledger's performance was obviously good but was far from oscar worthy and I would still take Nicholson over him anyday. Also, what was up with the voice of Bale when he was in the Batsuit? Pretty bizarre stuff and a weak attempt at trying to sound like Keaton (who in my mind will always be the quintessential Batman)

The Others. One of only two movies I ever fell asleep watching and skipped to the ending then turned off. Grave of the Fireflies isn't well known enough to be considered most over rated but it's more over rated by those that know of it.

The Ring was overrated as hell as well.

Re: Your Most Overrated. Movie. Ever.

Independence Day.

This movie should have had it all! Aliens, Jets, Patriotism, and Harry Connick Jr. But it was just awful. C'mon the president hops in a jet and becomes the Red Baron? Idiots hanging out on buildings with signs wanting to be abducted? And finally the less talented Quaid brother destroys the "Mother Ship" by flying a bi-plane?

In Bill Waltons voice..."Just Horrrrribblle!"
I want my 2 hours back, my money, and the 5 minutes it took to post this all back.

Agree with everything except taking Nicholson's Joker over Ledger's anyday. Can't definitively say I'd do that.

Some of the symbolism in it was pretty good and it had me thinking after the movie.

As for Batman....

It was actually better the second time I watched it. I think the only thing that really missed the mark was the swing and miss of Bale trying to capture Bruce Wayne's inner struggle becoming the Dark Knight. I wasn't feeling it.

Comparing Nicholson's Joker to Ledger's Joker is almost apples and oranges. It's like comparing Stan Lee's Spiderman to McFarlane's Spiderman. They are trying to portray two different types of the Joker.

That being said, I absolutely loved Nicholson's Joker and I thought Ledger's Joker far surpassed that one.
