I agree that tactics are very deep, but like I said, they should not be the be all end all - which is what common PES players defend. That's not right. No team in the world has all 11-players completely in-sync with the prescribed tactics. Doesn't happen.
this is false... what do you mean it doesn't happen? Yes it does

and it happens quite often.

any ways, some quick impressions after 3 matches.

I like how keepers react on crosses and higih balls into the box.. I think pass support 1 is a tad to accurate and I think manual passing seems like it should be pass assist 1. both manual passing and shooting is not as tough as 2016 and I think should be the default after playing with the settings. I also think -1 game speed feels about the right pace. some good gameplay so far but I need to play more. keepers are probably the best I ever seen in a PES game before.. they seem perfect to be honest. fouls are much better which is good. Shooting feels good but maybe a tad to powerful rockers at times. overall some very good gameplay and probably the best PES.. need to play more though.

Well color me impressed. Did not expect to be blown away by the visuals- hard to tell if you are watching a real game on tv or not at times. I'm on the ps4, stinks if it looks better than the xbox. I can only imagine if they made this version of game for PCs what it could look like.

This could be a year where PES finally steals more sales from FIFA. With the switch to the new engine I expect it to be rough around the edges at least.

I do think Manual passing will be the way to go but manual shooting i feel is too easy the shots are rockets all the time and it seems you can get them off quicker than basic.
Im in the middle of trying all the shot options to compare, think ive settled all ready on manual passing.

but what I mean is the manual passing setting to me now feels like it should be really pass assist 1 when I play with it it almost felt like.

I also noticed manual shooting seem a bit easier than before as well...

So, it is, on the pitch, the best game of soccer I have ever played. You really have to think fast and strategically. The buildup is awesome. It is really a thinking man's game.

However, since I am playing it on Xbox One, the graphics are atrocious. While the game plays well, the terrible graphics simply kill it for me. Therefore, despite the fact that it is one of the best sports games I have ever played, the awful graphics are just killing it for me. I will not be getting this soccer game.

The more i play it the more the graphics are not bothering me as much.
Hopefully its lower in demo to keep the download smaller?
Wishful thinking i know but even on xbox the graphics are incredible at certain moments.
Demo is GOOD been playing all night.

Meh, still a lot of flaws with the gameplay mechanics. Players feel too silky and are able to turn much quicker than anyone would in real life on the ball. Ball still feels glued to players rather than a separate entity. Keepers are still just a bit... off? Their animations are so weird. A lot of the animations feel very stiff to be honest, especially skill moves. Shooting is still too easy and body positioning and opposition pressure doesn't seem to affect your accuracy much at all. Still lacks the passing and first touch mistakes we can get in FIFA (one of its redeeming qualities). Scoring a goal still feels meh.

Still missing a whole host of features from the old-gen PES too. Where are the stats like aggression and teamwork that dictated player movement? Or the attack and defensive arrows you could set in formation page to dictate the sort of runs players made? Or technical stats like passing speed, dribble speed, shot technique etc?

I think it's an improvement, but still not close to what I would've hoped for. Just baby steps as always.
