That's one of the options they changed/tinkered with that just doesn't work. Set every CPU player's attack to low and defense to high, and the CPU will still relentlessly attack. Whereas if you do the same thing in FIFA 12, the CPU will continually pass the ball back and forth without really moving forward. Those settings work so well in FIFA that you can allow the CPU to enter your half, and then if you pressure them they'll pass the ball backwards and exit back to their own side of the pitch. Nothing like that is possible with PES' tactics settings as far as I can see.
It well could be. Then again, it could be something they couldn't make happen from a technological standpoint (it's either arrrows or player cards, can't have both).

I think what you are referring to could be achieved in the teams style, tinkering with player support and support range. I've set both of these values to 0 for Spain, and although the results are not breathtaking, they seem to play a more build up style.

Which stats are you referring to? I believe some have just changed name, the only one I can remember now that was removed was shot technique...

I am no where near the soccer fan that most are here and I don't possess half the knowledge about the rules/players/etc. that you guys have. Knowing all this I do dabble in playing the video game representation of it from time to time. After playing 4 games of this demo I must say I'm very impressed. I only played on the Regular setting so far but the teammate a.i. seems to be very good as far as moving to open spaces to receive passes or being in good defensive position. It was a little too easy to keep ball away from the D(Could be related to setting). I also think this game looks extremely good graphically(great camera selections) and animates very well. This game is certainly on my radar now.

I always thought that their game looked very authentic with a good brnd of realism when it came too realism in the graphics department.

After 2011, they removed the agility, shot technique, technique and aggression ratings, while adding a ball control rating. I can honestly say the thing that saved PES 2011 for me was globally raising the shot technique rating for all players in the game; it did away with all the moon-shot air balls that were commonplace in that game. When I heard they removed that rating in 2012, all the complaints about the "broken shooting" in 2012 made complete sense to me. It's the main reason I never bought that game.

Yes, I never appreciated that until I saw the demo and the real game side-by-side the other day. I was impressed.

I'm not sure how any game can be devoid of an "agility" rating...

And the two "techniques" were really central to each player's performance, it seemed.

I didn't play 2012, but I was puzzled they removed them.

What's the difference between body balance and agility?

One thing I'd like to see is more fouls called on follow-throughs when shooting. They are hardly ever called.
