Smile PES 2009 News- July 23

Just when it looks like FIFA was going to run away with it...

Good news on the AI front, especially defensively. The person giving the impression seems to think defense has improved, which was, as everyone who played 2008 knows, a must. "Become a Legend" is a direct rip-off of "Be a Pro" mode, but FIFA has stolen a bunch from PES recently, and it has really helped FIFA out. So maybe stealing benefits everyone (definitely the consumer though!)

Anyone else excited?

Competition is a great thing. Unfortunately not a single word about the speed of the game though.

The Winning Eleven series on PS2 was pure gold for me. Too bad they haven't been able to capture that magic on the next-gen systems, as the idea of competition driving quality & innovation is certainly true in the gaming business. As was said, FIFA wouldn't be anywhere near where it is without the WE/PES series garnering so much acclaim over the years...

:O What about things like...gameplay? Animation? Physics? Not to mention an improved edit mode could make the lack of licenses practically moot.
