I read in there that the player attributes are not going to change from last year. I am I missing something here or read it wrong? You have to change attributes from year to year.

It's confirmed by the guys at WENB. Expect at the very least everything that has been in the PS2 edit mode. Also, some of the info out is based off of an early build of the game. There is plenty more that is confirmed in the game which isn't present in the early build at this point.

Adam and Suff at WENB have mentioned several times that they jumped on every single rumor last year, and it was a massive mistake. This year Adam actually has a relationship with guys at Konami UK and are very careful to only report stuff that has been confirmed by insiders. With that said, Leipzig can't get here fast enough because at that point we'll actually know for sure what PES 2009 is going to be like!

Re: PES 2009 News- July 23

I just want PES to be good again. I loved 5 and 6, but 08 was a complete joke. The gameplay was way too fast and arcadish, even the ball physics were wack. I've never seen a football travel nearly 3/4 of the park in less than one second, but it happens in PES 08.

Plus, the game was too offense minded and every match became an up-and-down affair, as if I were playing basketball. And if that wasn't enough, the AI regularly went into god-mode, and there was nothing the player could do to stop the impending onslaught when that happened.

I'd be happy if Konami just fixed all the issues that plagued PES 08 and kept the next-gen graphics and animation. I could do with yet another year of playing the exact same Master League mode if it meant good gameplay. 5 and 6 were brilliant, I don't know what possessed Konami to regurgitate all over these two titles.
