Re: FIFA 16 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Here's the video from my Twitch stream embedded. Where is the mindless passing, the ping pong, the CPU not shooting from distance, the efforts from long balls?

All of that happens. Length is going to play a bigger role in 16 than it did in 15. Increasing it seems to have helped a bit, but as you can tell in the video, I'm still experimenting. Will it matter when the full version comes out? Who knows - but I like what I'm seeing, and I'll remain optimistic for the full version regardless.

PES has problems too Peji, but the lack of purpose on offense is not one of them like in FIFA.

Just saw your first game Dortmund (you) vs City (CPU), my thoughts:

- CPU had 5 shots on goal the whole game and 7 total, donīt be fooled by the end game stats, they count ALL shots, even the ones that donīt reach the goal.
- 4 of the shots on goal, includind the goal, where rebound shots. Now, this IS a situation where CPU does shoot (like in previous years). Rebounds in front of the goal, they will shoot it, also in situations of corners, if you clear the ball with a header to the front of the box, a CPU player will shoot. However, in regular plays, with no rebounds, they tend to not shoot. In many ocasions, where a CPU player is near the box and can shoot they just go to the sides and start passing around until they loose possession (that happened in your game a lot).
- CPU has no purpose on offense. Itīs almost like they donīt want to score or create chances. There wasnīt a single 1-2 near the box (a common play in football to break down defences) to get a man open to shoot.
- CPU does defend well, and the game in general is good, but the CPU on offense has the same problem of last year, no purpose, canīt build good plays to score, doesnīt shoot from distance (except rebound or first time shots).

EDIT: also, 91% pass accuracy from CPU Man. City... even with the slider edits.

I was watching someone streaming career mode and I heard him say that the build up is too slow and overall the game plays too slow. He then added that playing FUT the game is a bit faster which is the way he likes it. I really hope EA does not listen to complaints from FUT players about the game being slower and build ups taking too long which in return will have them patch and ruin FIFA again.

Something is very odd about defending, that's for sure. It's still a lot of ball watching and ping-ponging from the CPU.

Shooting is the most notable improvement in the game. Other than that, I am not nearly as excited as everybody else. They got rid of precision dribbling, too, so now I just feel like I'll get the ball nicked from my feet the same way I did in FIFA 15.

How does one...dribble? I don't need to do anything other than keep the ball at my feet when the CPU becomes magnetically attracted to me. E.g. Messi shouldn't have the ball ripped from him easily by crap defenders. I used precision dribbling in years past and refuse to learn Street Fighter dribbling combos.

They have the no touch dribbling (hate this term) that you have to use.

##No they just changed the button. Hold down L1/LB. ##

Actually no, I just loaded it up and checked, it L1/LB is no touch. LT is still precision dribbling. I just did it in the demo. Unless you guys are talking about something else entirely.

Run frequency at 5/3 probably didn't help the CPU's offense. I wanted to test to see how much post up on the defense and midfields (a common football/soccer move as well, that was missing in FIFA 15) from different line settings, pressure, etc. Seemed to have worked nicely, especially in the chelsea-dortmund match (match #3 on the video).

At the end of the day, us slider guys are excited for the demo, and crossing our fingers for the full version. The main complaints can be remedied, especially the ones from FIFA 15. It's nice to think that EA has listened to what we were screaming for, and a lot of those check-marks are currently crossed off for the demo - we'll see if the eraser needs to get pulled out though in the final release.

Yes, most main complaints are gone, and itīs definitely a better game. But the lack of purpose and shooting by the CPU still shows a lot of itīs ugly head. Maybe on the final version it will be different, maybe sliders CAN fix this, but if previous games are any indication, thatīs both no and no.

Letīs hope i guess...
