No real innovation here, but I'm sure a lot of people on this board are quite satisfied with the status quo. To each his own.

We're (the BC community) really asking for patches more than anything. Sliders aren't available, so are hands are a little tied.
Come on Jaybee your a quality poster

But even if that game had sliders i find it hard to believe you guys wouldn't still mess with the player ratings to fix gameplay......

One of the things i used to hate about NBA 2K fans was that they would act like only NBA Live needed ratings adjusted to fix game play issues

Yet after 1-2 months you'd always see roster files for NBA 2K with guys tweaking the game beyond sliders...

I don't care what anyone say's whether it's APF, Backbreaker, NFL 2K5 or Madden the game play is going to be flawed in some ways. Everyone of those games requires some kind of extra editing to the players in order to make it play better on the field.

But it seems like the NCAA community seems to overeact much more and blow things out of proportion.

If you slow it down, than the computer will instantly be throwing more knuckle balls and it won't be pretty. I just don't think that this engine will ever play a decent bit of ball, and I hope they can fix some of these problems before launch. I won't buy this, but for those who will, I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of the game. It's just not for me, not this year.

I'm not going to be one of those people that plays the same broken game year in and year out, and tell others how great it is, and then call people who disagree with me that they are whiners. If the game was truly great and the only thing we had to pay for every year was the new game with updated rosters and new animations, then I would be fine with it, but instead we get the same broken game only with upgraded presentation. I truly hope you enjoy the game, I wasn't being a a**h***, thats not how I work, but if you can't accept my sincerity than shame on you.

My point is tons of people said NCAA 10 was too fast.
So EA added different levels of game speed...

Now that's a problem.
On many levels developers can't win for losing.

I will man up and say this. I was out of line with quoting you and making my reply.

I can respect your opinion and desires of a better game but after reading all the "cookie cutter" posts from the same posters time after time after time... It gets old.
Again I say my thoughts on the game (And for what it's worth I also have a few bad things to say about NCAA11) but then move on. I don't ccontinually post the same thing over and over.

Most of us want a great game and I for one think NCAA11 looks headed that way. I will always have issues though with agenda posters.

In the end though it's just a game and no one is forced to buy it

My appologies

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

Guys, I have only played against the computer, and I hope that others are having a better experience against humans. I am very disappointed with the defensive AI. Although they have made noticeable improvements with the presentation, it is overshadowed by the AI issues in this game. The gliding that I see on the field is comical. Is that the product of EA's new version of locomotion? Warping is still in the game, and causes other game play issues like pulling receivers out of bounds. The DB's seem to drop every pass, even the simple ones. The WR's tend to turn into lineman when trying to catch the ball sometimes. What happened to head tracking? In the demo, head tracking is awful. The WR still has that psychic connection with the QB.

Running the ball is very easy now. In fact, it is too easy. I hope that this can be defended better if I am playing human opponents. If you time slant plays, they appear to work the majority of the time. The defensive line is almost worthless, in terms of getting pressure on the QB. If someone knows any way of getting pressure from your front four, please let me know.

If you call certain run plays, and motion your TE to block, you do not have too pass the ball at all. Making the first guy miss is automatic for me, no matter who I use. This seems like wide open game play all over again. This game needs better foot planting, and a ton of new animations. Aside from the gliding, and glaring AI issues, most of the game play is still the same. I am pointing out these issues, in hopes that they can have a patch ready soon after release. I seriously doubt that they can fix all of these issues before the game releases.

I love the player lock function on defense. Playing DB is fun. EA did improve the run blocking, but the DE's seem to get stuck on blocks now. I just wish that all of these game play issues were not there, but they are.

I was surprised to see so many issues with this demo. These issues were observed after two days of game play, and I am just posting random thoughts. If this demo is indicative of the final version, NCAA 11 will be a cheese paradise online.

Thanks PM-I'm not disagreeing with what you said, it's just that the player editing in Backbreaker is so ridiculous, you can't directly edit players to achieve a desired improvement in the game. For example I'd like the O-Line to pass block a little better (I really do!!) so I could make improvements in all teams' O-lines, but it doesn't work that way. The only thing you can directly edit is a player's name and jersey number. Your only player editing input is two sliders that designate how many Gold Players you want on offense (1-11) or defense (1-11).

Not to get this thread off topic, but Jaybee if you check out the Backbreaker roster forum FlyingFinn has created a editor that allows you to edit player ratings. It is only for the 360 though.

That is correct. It is only for the 360 though, so maybe Jaybee has the game on the PS3.

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

Well I had high hopes for this game but each game I play with the demo the more that hope fades.

I started out playing the game on varsity and perhaps that's the level that makes the game a bit more fun. I switched to AA a few days ago and my frustration continues to grow.

Here's a few of my complaints.

No true gang tackles. When the ball carrier is being tackled or slowed up by a defender you want to come in a level a huge hit to clean out everyone. But your player can't! He bounces off the "animation" and cannot contribute to the action taking place. If the ball carrier escapes your tacklers grasp he gains extra yards as your other players are slow to react.

Blitzing seldom works. Rarely do you ever get much heat on the QB. Sending extra attackers only leaves your secondary vulnerable to being burned. Even when it's a run play your LB's and D line seem unable to get penetration and blow up the play.

There are so many defensive plays to choose from but you end up only a few base defense plays, why? Because the more exotic looking schemes don't work worth a ****!! I don't feel you should have to make 5 different positional moves trying to screw with the AI so that you can get heat. The plays should work as they are drawn up.

I don't know why the cpu's blockers on a punt play seem to give their return man room to run with the ball, my guys never make good blocks and they (my blockers) seem to be right on top of me when I receive the ball.

Nothing seems any different from past years. Yes they have made some nicer looking animations but the gameplay aspects are still the same.

The game will be a rental for me.
