Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here

played a game on heisman and for the first time the CPU had 2 roughing the passer penalties against me. Both happened on heavy blitz plays by the CPU. One I was in 5 wide and had no protection and the next I was running a HB screen and they came through pretty fast. This is not something I have normally seen in a game. I am having zero success running the ball with Florida. I am trying to run the qb choice or option plays but am having no luck.

try sweep or toss plays w/ florida's RB's. They are burners, I love 'em

Yeah, you're right, it's there... i guess i was just expecting the screen to shake, lol... and I'm so use to Madden, where you can hit stick people even when you're trailing the ball carrier. In the few games I've played in the demo, I have ppl lined up for kill shots with the safety and it just seemed like the hit stick had vanished -- I wasn't making any highlight film hits.

i just went and played a quick 8 min game in NCAA 09 to see if the graphics really changed any... smh, i don't know what the guy saying the graphics downgraded is looking at. NCAA 10 actually looks more colorful and vibrant.

The offense has really improved. The player movements feel much more fluid. I'll really be sold if the WR's and DB's go up and get the ball like they should. I was just playing '09 with Maryland and Heyward-Bey goes up for everything in his vicinity. All the extra features included in the game modes alone should make it worth the buy.

IMO the QB sneak is more realistic. In real life, the QB usually gets the snap, leans on a lineman and just pushes forward and falls forward for the first or td. In NCAA 09, the qb sneak, the qb would get the snap and there would be a hole and he would run through it and pick up 3-5 yards a pop. In NCAA 10, the QB gets the snap, goes towards the designated hole and falls forward a yard or 2, he doesnt just fall flat without moving, its as if he's pushing forward fighting for that yard so its actually more realistic since a QB sneak is only supposed to get you a yard or 2.

I'm interested to see if the defense can shut it down or if the QB always gets that yard because ive only ran it and seen it run once and i got the yard for the td that i needed.

I still haven't seen a shotgun snap go over the QB's head. I really want to see it and I have put in probably 75+ games on the demo.

I know this is minor, but why does EA have so much trouble implementing a proper dive animation for trailing defenders? When you are trying to chase down a ballcarrier from behind and you push dive, you actually lose ground on the ballcarrier, thus making the dive entirely pointless.

Because diving is actually slower in real life than running? You can't propel yourself forward faster with a dive than if you are running. The only thing a dive can be beneficial for is trying to trip up the ball carrier by hitting his feet. This is another reason why you rarely see people slide into First Base in Baseball.
