They are fun hack n' slash style games and I think with Hyrule Warriors it is even cooler because its the Legend of Zelda characters. This is a very cool looking game and whenever I get a Wii U down the road will be buying this for sure.

Re: Wii U Discussion

For you Wii U owners, how does the Gamepad hold up to lengthy playing sessions in terms of comfort? I've only played a few rounds of Mario Kart 8 on the GameStop demo station, so it's hard to tell how it'd be playing for a 2-3 hour session.

Re: Wii U Discussion

I've played some pretty long sessions of Mario 3d etc.. and I haven't had any discomfort. If I did I'd just switch to the pro controller or WiMote.

Re: Wii U Discussion

Gamepad is fine. I would highly recommend a pro controller though.

It's still my favorite Wii U game. Unlike really any other action brawler with really deep and unique mechanics. The pace of action is relentless and boss fights are insane. The craziness continues to ratchet up, culminating with one of the most insane finales I've ever experienced in a game.

Lack of accessibility is the hurdle though. The learning curve is fairly steep because of the unique drawing mechanics and very little is explained. It will take a good 2 hours or more to just start getting comfortable and feeling like you know what you're actually doing. Even though I don't think it's a good demo, there is one on the eShop.

Some tips for anybody interested in playing The Wonderful 101.
  • First things you should buy from the Wonder-Mart are Unite Guts and Unite Spring. These are essentially your Block and Dodge. So yeah, pretty important. Then go for the Wonder-Liner upgrades and other Unite upgrades.
  • Save the vegetables (space pepper, carrot, and eggplant) you collect in levels until you get 30 of each. Then mix them to get a Wonderful Credit Card which allows you to purchase any one item from the Wonder-Mart. There's no point in wasting them on healing items or other items because you come across enough in the levels themselves. I used my Credit Cards on Custom Blocks which are some of the most expensive items.
  • There's 3 default difficulties: Very Easy (Easy), Easy (Normal), and Normal (Hard). I played on Easy and it was tougher than Bayonetta on Normal. No matter what you choose, you can change the difficulty between missions. Also, on the default difficulties the only real penalty for dying is your ranking at the end might not be great. That's really it, because when you hit continue, you immediately come right back where you died and enemies (and even bosses) don't regain their health.
