That admittedly would be an amazing game. High scoring games are fun to watch, but its the defensive battles that we remember years later.

1. No it isn't. The 3 lowest scoring BCS chip games (2000, 2003, and 1998) are rarely if ever talked about, especially not when mentioned with the highest scoring (2005).

2. If Auburn vs Oregon is a 9-6 shoot out it will be an abysmal game. These defenses at their best can create turnovers and stop a one dimensional team. Neither should come close to shutting down the other team. If Auburn and Oregon combine for 15 points then it was likely a game of practice squad players after a bout of food poisoning or terrorism.

The only BCS title games that get talked about anymore are the pass interference game and the Vince Young game. So that's not a valid statement.

Exactly right.

And believe me, I know it wont be a defensive battle. I never said it would be. However, if it was, it would be so hilariously ironic. And yes, that game would be remembered, even if just as the game where everything that was supposed to happen didnt happen.

What's your point? Good for him. He went undefeated same as Gene.

Oh..and Gene already has a couple of Coach of the Year Awards. To go along with a Lombardi award. And a Heisman. And a Maxwell. And a Davey O'Brien. And a Frank Broyles. And a Walter Camp....

What other coaching award does he have? He won AP SEC Coach of the Year, but Spurrier won the Coaches' one didn't he? Or is it vice versa?

Home Depot Coach of the Year. And some other Coach of the Year award whose name escapes me. There are about 4 or 5 of them.
