TAMU definitely won Expansion 2010.

They showed that, despite the fact that they're a .500 team this decade, they're a serious force and can't be bossed around by Texas and Oklahoma.

The fact that Texas tried to pull the "we'll never play you again and we're going to make millions!" and TAMU said "do that **** but we're going to get some SEC speed" and Texas was the one who blinked is remarkable.

Re: Saving The Big XII...

I'm glad Texas is staying put and it seems the BIG XII will indeed be saved. I really did not want a Pac 16 Super Conference, that may work in Basketball (though some would argue it doesn't), but not in Football. That's just too many teams IMO.

So does this mean the Big XII is the new Big 10 and the Big 10 is the new Big XII?

Yep, TAMU straight called their bluff.

I've heard just the opposite, that FOX was the one that stepped up and offered the big bucks that allowed Dan Bebee to convince Texas to stay.

If this ends up all going down the way it looks (Big XII staying put at 10), it further confirms my hypothesis that Texas was terrified of the SEC.

If SEC teams playing a conference game every other year in Texas is enough for them to cancel expansion than the SEC's fearitude is at an all time high.

I don't think it had anything to do with the SEC. Texas just realized it could get a hell of a lot more money by staying put and being able to launch their own TV network.

So they orchestrated this entire charade to get Nebraska and Colorado to leave just so they can launch their own television network?
