What about a guy like Mayorga who basically dared his opponents to hit them? He took shots to the face like a (insert bad joke here) and never got dropped off one punch.

Although they said you can get your bell rung, and it can lasts as long as a few seconds, or even through rounds, I have yet to see the latter. With that being said, your bell should stay ringing after knock downs. Rarely do fighters get knocked down, get up, and they're ok (unless it's a slip). Usually when a fighter gets dropped, he's looking to retreat for fear of the fight ending. Even when I get knocked down, once I get up, I'm fighting back like nothing ever happened.

Exactly. In the past month alone, I've seen a variance of this where sometimes the guy is clearly rocked (Montiel against Donaire), and in others the guy is simply stunned but ready to keep fighting (Dzinziruk when being floored 5 times against Martinez).

-Flash KO's should be rare and only certain fighters should be capable of flash knocking out someone...and some fighters (i.e. Marvin Hagler) should not be able to be flash KO'ed at all.

-If your stamina is low, it should be much harder to get up from a knock down, even if it's the first time you've been knocked down in the fight. On the contrary, if you get knocked down multiple times, I don't care if you fell 5 times....if the punch didn't hurt you, you should be able to get up with ease each time.
I agree, its way too easy to get up multiple times. I would like some 1st knockdowns to be able to reach the 10 count. This is different than a punch KO where there is no count.

I also agree that boxers who get up after being hurt should stay hurt for a period of time. Not totally reengergized like they took a refreshing nap.

I disagree that some boxers shouldn't be able to be 1 punch KO'd. There is always a chance that someone can be. In the case of Hagler it may be .0001% but there should always be a chance if a perfect punch lands.

In my 40 years on earth I've watched quite a bit of boxing. My only experience is training on my off time for it in the Army and having ONE sparring session that let me know this isn't for me. Also having some friends who pursued it but never really got anywhere. That's all I got. I'm no expert, not saying I am, but I do know that in sports ANYTHING can happen. Like I tell people, if a mother can lift a car off her child the human body is capable of anything at any moment. So that feather fist boxer can get lucky one time in life, it's very much a possibility. Furthermore, for the sake of the game the risk of getting your clocked cleaned should be there to promote better boxing. Imagine if it was known that a certain boxer could NEVER be flash KO'ed, everybody and their mother would be picking this guy online.

well offline I want it as real as possible. I don't think Paul Malinaggi could knock Tyson out if he was drunk on roller skates.

I use to spar guys smaller than me when I boxed and never felt threatened about getting KO'd by many of them.

I hear what you're saying, thus brings my flaw about the current knockdown system. I used Marvin Hagler as an example of a dude who shouldn't be flash KO'ed. Should he be able to be flash knocked down? Absolutely, even if rare. The problem is that on Fight Night, every successive knockdown gets more difficult to get up from, which is unrealistic. There should be situations where a fighter gets knocked down, and it's difficult for him to get up, and he's hurt when he gets up....or there should be times when they aren't hurt at all and able to easily get up...even if they have been down multiple times or it's late in the fight. I just can't imagine any situation where prime Hagler would be out with one punch with no chance of getting up whatsoever.

Offline I can go along with this to the fullest. There you're trying to create your own boxing world, it's just online certain things need to be in place

I got no problem with what you're describing.
