Re: Restoring the Fear: A Belltown Tigers Legacy

Belltown keeps season alive, knocks off Lincoln in OT 135-128

And you thought last week was amazing. Well, this week was even better as the Tigers beat Lincoln 135-128 at home. With the win, Belltown keeps the hope for Districts alive, but they need at least 2 more wins to make it.

At one point, Belltown was trailing by 11, but they were able to fight back and have the lead late (sound familiar)? Well, the Tigers let Sophomore Railsplitter Kyler Admundson get free and get a putback dunk to tie the game. Then, for the second straight week, Mike Rice's squad couldn't get off a good shot, as Brandon Gillespie, the hot hand lately, was blocked when driving to the lane. OT again.

This time, OT went much better for the Tigers, as they had an 11 point lead in OT themselves. But Sophomore Bryce Curry wouldn't go down without a fight, as he put up 13 in OT. However, his fight wasn't enough, as Brandon Gillespie would hit 5 late free throws to give Belltown the win.

News and Notes: New JV Coach Claude Speed will assume coaching duties next week @Bedford.

Belltown has offically formed a big 3. Brandon Gillespie, Cole Smith, and Dontae' Brown combined to score 103 of the team's 135 points AND scored all of the teams' 3rd quarter points.

Well that explains part of my problem, I've been playing on 10 minute quarters this entire time lol.

And I'll use the sliders for next game.
