The Twins have the worst, "best" player...I guess that sounds about right.

Huge fan of the Texas Rangers, but I think Colby Lewis is too high. The guys lost a lot of his game in the last couple of years. I'm also interested to see what Rougened Odor's and Joey Gallo's ratings are!😁

Carlos Santana not being a top 10 player on the tribe is just stupid... also noticed cespedes is super overrated

I agree on Santana. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.asp...lter=&players= in terms of his value on the field.

But his ratings may be there, i.e. huge power, poor defense. One of the things that makes him so valuable, his walk rate, doesn't affect his value in game as much as it does his fWAR outside of the game. When the game comes out check his ratings and I'd assume his power and discipline is there, but the game translates his skills to whatever OVR he has.

Rizzo 84 and Castro 80 with Baez a 77? yikes!

I think Bumgarner is too low, for a Guy who has won the World Series!

I thought they said that they did not take postseason into account.

As I understand it the ratings are initially determined by the real life stats from the last 3 years

2014 - 50% of the total
2013 - 25% of the total
2012 - 25% of the total

Then from there they make tweaks for a few players We also don't know how much specific certain stats are weighted in the final calculation.

But except for those players that may have had their rating tweaked he was ranked using the same system as every other pitcher.

Love me some Adam Jones, not sure how his "clutch" rating is so high. I'll gladly take it tho.

Why does Delabar have a higher overall than Loup and Cecil?

Thank god for OFSM

The Hell??????? he's 39-8 over the last 2 seasons. 55-15 the last 3 seasons.

For the sake of this conversation. Clayton Kershaw 37-12 the last 2 seasons. 59-21 the last 3 seasons.

Keep in mind they look at the last 3 years for each player. Rizzo stunk it up 2 years ago.

If Baez is a 77, Castro and Rizzo should be 88 plus.

Baez should be 68-69 max if we're going off how ratings actually effect on the field play.

What they said in one of the streams was that 50% of the player's attributes are from how they performed in 2014, 25% for 2013 and 25% for 2012. Plus if the player has not been in the league for the last 3 years or injured for a considerable amount of time, SCEA used their own discretion towards assigning a rating value.

We can always adjust the ratings to own liking as well. Just don't assign them to be too high. It's not fun always winning. It's more rewarding when you have to fight for your wins. Plus being able to handle losing builds character ... haha ... I better watch it saying such things. The ghost of Ayrton Senna will now begin to haunt me for even suggesting there is anything other than winning.

<------- SF homer. That being said the Giants team rating better be higher than the Dodgers. (I Know it won;t be, if only team chemistry was taken into account)

Well if we're going by the World Series, then Joe Panik should be a 99 overall.

At least according to Joe Buck.

Anyway, I'm satisfied with the Royals rankings. Sal is probably rated a little too low, but he was pretty bad at the plate last year, so an 82 isn't awful.

I think 84 is about right for Riz, he has more room to develop. But I'm going to edit Castro to be around an 84 also. Have to wait and see what his full ratings look like. His defense has improved dramatically, especially the second half of last year. If that is what is bringing his overall down a little, that will be an easy fix.

Baez, I dunno. Tons of power with tons of strike outs, really good fielder some of the time, with a cannon arm, just makes too many mistakes on defense. So Contact and discipline should be really low. Hit power, arm strength and reaction time should be high. Fielding and arm accuracy should be average. I'm guessing Baez gets a higher rating because, as they've mentioned, second base is generally a weaker position, and that figures into their overall rating formula.

Are they not using actual player photos they year? I'd be fine with that, but it would be a surprising move.

Btw, they had actual player photos in their earlier streams, but not at the start of this stream.

UPDATE: Nevermind. I guess it was a fantasy draft mode thing.
