It’s about time to get a little tricky.
EA Sports is bringing back their over-the-top, exhilarating and tricked-out snowboarding game Feb. 14. As many of you remember, SSX was known for the insane trick moves you could pull off while racing down a hill at blazing speeds. Though the game may look and feel slightly different, the essentials are still there to keep a smile on your face.
The three modes include Race It, Trick It and Survive It. The race and trick modes are identical to what you should expect from any SSX game, but the new survival mode adds an extra twist.

NFL Blitz is making a very spectacular – yet retro – return.
After getting some hands-on time with the new NFL Blitz, I was reminded of the days where I would play the old arcade game with my friends for hours. The core gameplay feels nearly untouched and the focus is still on either sacking the quarterback or knocking down all of the receivers.

The NBA’s Greatest is about to take it to the streets in Times Square.
2K Sports has finally announced the known Legend’s Showcase DLC, which consists of five new game modes: HORSE, Two-on-Two Teammate Challenge, Three-on-Three Era Challenge, 21 and Pick-Up. You will also be able to take the NBA’s Greatest teams into online quick play. Another key point that was mentioned, was the roster sharing between current and classic teams, allowing you to place legends on current teams and take them into Association. However, unlike what most gamers were hoping, Crew is not part of the content.
“One of the biggest things I want to stress about the DLC project is that we’ve been working on it since the early stages of 2K12’s development, so we aren’t just trying to throw something together to charge people money,” said Ben Bishop, 2K Sports producer. “As the game finished up, the 2K12 team sent us the final version to help us put the finishing touches on the DLC.”
One thing Bishop really wanted to let gamers know was that his team really wanted the DLC to stand apart from the retail version. The DLC’s graphics have a cel-shaded look to them, giving gamers a whole new 2K experience.
In HORSE, you can re create **** battles just as MJ and Bird battled it out for a Big Mac in the old ’93 commercial. The shots you can take range from a simple dunk or jump shot, to trick shots, like standing on top of a building or interacting with your surroundings.
The Two-on-Two Teammate Challenge is similar to the old school NBA JAM ladder system. There are 15 duos that you will take on in the challenge. Starting from top to bottom, you must find a way to topple each and every team. Teams include the obvious of Jordan/Pippen and Bird/McHale, but even branch into the less popular tandems of Payton/Kemp, Mullen/Hardaway and Mourning/Johnson.
The big prize for completing the ladder is the ability to take any of the players on the NBA Greatest rosters into the Creating A Legend mode.
“One of our big focuses in the content was to incorporate the legends,” said Bishop. “We wanted to find another way to feature them in ways we haven’t done before. The NBA’s Greatest is focused on who is the best team of all time, but the Legends Showcase gives you the opportunity to find out who is the best player of all time.”
The Three-on-Three Era Challenge allows you to take the best threesomes from each era and pit them against each other. You’ll be facing teams like the Celtics form the 60s, the Lakers from the 80s and the Bulls from the 90s. Once this mode is complete, you will be able to combine any current and classic players onto a team and form ultimate domination.
Pick-Up is the mode that gives you the most freedom. From anything to a one-on-one match up to a full on five-on-five scrimmage, Pick-Up will let you create the most random rosters from a pool of over 300 players, half current and half classic.
Included in the classic roster will be players that aren’t even in the retail game. You’ll see the likes of Kevin Johnson, Bob Pettit, George Mikan and Rick Barry to name a few. The list of new legends will slowly be revealed between now and the unannounced release date. Also to be noted is that players in the Legend’s Showcase DLC will be re created to be at the peak of their careers. For example, Bill Walton appears in NBA’s Greatest as his career is dwindling down on the 1985-’86 Celtics, but in the DLC he will appear on the ’78 Blazers. Current players like Jason Kidd, Tim Duncan and Grant Hill will also be re rated so you can use them at the peak of their careers. Disappointingly, though, the jerseys and players that are added to the DLC will not be available anywhere in the retail game.
Last, but most definitely not least, you will have the ability to take your My Player into Pick-Up, HORSE and 21.
“If you haven’t built up you’re My Player, it’s going be tough,” said Bishop. You can’t beat MJ, Bird or Magic one-on-one if you’re rated 85.”
All in all it sounds like the DLC, with the $10 price tag, will be a solid addition to NBA 2K12.
“This is something we’ve wanted to do from the get-go,” said Bishop. “We saw how 2K12 was taking shape and wanted to extend it even further. We knew there was a lot more we could do with the legends, so we went with this. It definitely stands as its own product.”

It's been one year since we were all blessed with the God of video game basketball in NBA 2K11, so of course our hype levels were at an all-time high with 2K12 releasing last week. The hype built up so much that we were expecting nothing less than a Jordan-esque legend. But in the end, the game didn't quite live up to all the buzz.
Don't get me wrong, this game is fantastic and a must buy for every basketball fan out there, but we were all expecting a classic. Instead we ended up with a great game, and we're disappointed by the fact. We may be greedy and selfish, but this is what happens when 2K consistently puts out a great product. The expectations become so ridiculously high that they will be near impossible to meet.
So I'm not being negative, the game is the best virtual NBA to date. And it all starts with this little thing, which everyone is falling in love with, called gameplay.

NBA 2K has always thrived on their game modes. Association is considered one of the best franchise modes in sports games and My Player was a very quick success. This year, Association was barely touched, but My Player had a pretty big overhaul. But the problem is, that overhaul might not be enough to keep players interested in playing the mode.

The wait is finally over. NBA 2K12 has hit retail shelves and our gaming systems. So far the game has done nothing less than impress me when gameplay is the topic of discussion. The game feels just as smooth as when OS had the exclusive hands-on demo and the post game is everything we’ve been asking for the past decade.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you total immersion.

On Wednesday, Operation Sports had a chance to be a part of the NBA 2K12 Conference Call with producer Erick Boenisch and lead gameplay designer Mike Wang.
The two covered pretty much anything and everything from the game, minus the highly anticipated announcements of online and association. However it was mentioned an online association insight will be coming by Thursday.
To listen to the call yourself, and hear Wang and Boenisch discuss My Player, The Greatest and gameplay, click the link below.
You might even find out who got a new dunk package.

Ever since I first put Burnout 3: Takedown in my original XBOX, I’ve been a huge fan of the series. Paradise had lasting value as well. So of course when I first heard about the Arcade title, Burnout Crash, my excitement level started creeping up.
I was skeptical after seeing some gameplay videos, but I still had hope for the series. But, unfortunately, the awesome, GTA 2-esque camera angle was not enough to keep me interested for too long.

NBA 2K11 was a fantastic game. The classic teams (mainly the Sonics), the graphics, the gameplay; the game had it all. No chance 2K was going to be able to even match what 2K11 accomplished.
We were wrong.
After getting some quality time playing NBA 2K12 I can safely say that the crew has done it again. For the umpteenth time, NBA2K will almost certainly be better than its predecessor.

The '94-'95 Seattle Sonics being included in NBA Jam: On Fire Edition is one of the single greatest announcements ever made in NBA video game history.
Yes, you read that right. Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp and Detlef Schrempf will making a grand return to the two-on-two arcade sensation. This is just another step in the right direction for NBA games.
The Sonics will be their own option. They won’t be some secret team hidden underneath the Oklahoma City Thunder. They won’t be stuck in Sonics jerseys running around on a court full of blue and orange (remember NBA Live 10?). Isn’t that exciting?
For those of you who remember playing NBA Jam: Tournament Edition, you remember one thing: The Sonics were the best team in the game. This isn’t the homer in me coming out (it usually does when it comes to the Sonics), it’s a fact. The Bulls didn’t have Jordan -- who only appeared in limited arcade versions of NBA Jam. Payton was as fast as any other guard in the league, and Kemp was the best dunker in the game. The Reign Man was even a block monster. Oh, and did I mention both players could hit the 3?

Asphalt 3D is a racing game for Nintendo’s 3DS handheld, but it’s too bad the developers did not effectively use the 3-D technology. Plus, beyond the technical shortcomings, the game is just boring.
