The most fun I had without question was on Tiger Woods 11 Wii. Incredible to me how so much change and innovation can be created with one simple new feature – the new True View. First, EA Sports added new swing recognition technology dubbed the Advanced Plus Swing. Basically it will track your entire swing motion and angle on the ball, so you now can draw and fade the ball based on your swing. You can check the videos for a nice tutorial.
The Tour Pro swing reads the point where you contact the ball with a first person view titled True View. Yeah, you actually have a view looking over the ball like your actually playing – and it plays seamlessly! That’s the craziest part. You can waggle the club and open it, and even change your setup on the ball.

By far the most interesting title at the Season Opener was EA Sports MMA. The game was on display in the form of a playable demo for the producers only to play, and for me to witness (Media was not allowed to video any game play). I found the fighters in the game to maneuver and slide around just as you would expect from an EA Sports title; the fighters had a bit of the Fight Night footwork in there from what I could tell, but with more bounce and fluidness in their steps.

Jeremy Strauser of Madden NFL 11 was next in line for the opening presentation at the Season Opener. Strauser stated that Madden NFL 11 will be data driven – and once again touched on how the OS forum feedback is much appreciated (Got to enjoy the love we received in a packed house full of the game industries best editorials) Strauser threw some crazy numbers around regarding the data tracked in Madden NFL 10. 173 million data reports are made per day in Madden. Cool note: 7.5 million interceptions have been thrown by Brett Favre.

"Was it all a dream?" Those were the famous words sung by Faith Evans on the classic Jay-Z album Blueprint 2.
They also happen to be the same words some NBA Live fans are repeating after recently learning that producer Mike Wang is migrating back over to 2K Sports. Obviously, questions remain about the direction of the franchise after the latest news.
While Live fans keep praying for another breakthrough in next year’s release, here are some ideas to ponder.

Shaun White is the best snowboarder in the world. His 2006 gold medal for Team USA in Torino, Italy cemented that fact. But with the Olympics still a month away, the high-flying White still has a bit of time to focus some attention on the game industry. So while Shaun gets prepped to tear up another halfpipe in Vancouver, he probably wants people to enjoy his latest video game, Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage, which was recently released for the Nintendo Wii.Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage is the sequel to Shaun White Snowboarding Road Trip. Boasting fun cartoon personalities who travel the international borders on the snowboarding world circuit, this Wii sports title works in well with the spirit of the Olympics. World Stage builds on the prequel by offering a new career mode, new venues and a trick creator feature.

Technology is a different kind of beast. It's an animal that we attempt to tame, but it’s a phenomenon whose evolution is hardly predictable. I say that because we are now living in the Web 2.0 era, which is kind of crazy because we are less than 10 years removed from the first Internet boom in the late 1990s. (For the uninitiated, think of Web 2.0 as a way to interact with and change things online -- social-networking sites and Wikipedia are examples.)
Web 2.0 is also playing a role in the videogame world. Online gaming is constantly becoming more social and more technologically advanced. In fact, the power behind some of the videogames being pushed out by various companies is challenging applications and web services that you can find on your own personal computers.

I am a Miami Hurricane while my good friend back home loves the Florida Gators. We can already envision our football school rivalry transforming into an online-dynasty classic for multiple seasons. Thanks to the new competitive recruiting options, it will be an even more intense fight of program prestige and recruiting power. The Gators will no longer be stealing the five-star athletes from the U under my reign as head coach.Read More - NCAA Football 10 Preview

EA’s exclusive NFL license agreement could potentially be in jeopardy if apparel manufacturer American Needle Inc. has their way. It just seems fittingly appropriate to look back in time on a day when every sports gamer is ready to dig into the 2009 baseball titles. After all, baseball video games have come a long way over the years. There are now high-definition games with dynamic lighting, text-sims with incredibly deep franchise modes and even motion-controlled games complete with waggling. Games like MLB 09: The Show on the Playstation 3 have metric stats, formulas, and algorithms to calculate pitch counts, hitter tendencies, pitcher abilities and dynamic situations.
With all the realism found in these beautifully designed sports games, dare we ask the veteran sports gamers if today’s games compare to the level of fun the sports games of the past presented?

Sports video games in the United States make up a strong subculture in the gaming community. In general, video games were able to sustain sales, and even grow during 2008. While video games may not be recession-proof, they do provide a fun and alternative form of entertainment while being financially safe. Most of the video-game growth in 2008 came from the Nintendo Wii, which just so happens to be the cheapest home console as well.People are reluctant to go out and spend $10 on a movie ticket when they can stay at home and rent something in HD On Demand; or better yet, get together with the family and friends and play some Mario Kart Wii during a cold winter night.
The Wii has been dominating Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s Playstation 3 in the sales department. Nintendo has dominated because developers have created games that people of all skill levels can easily handle, the console is cheaper, and it is marketed as a console for the whole family.
