The Lakers are in the NBA Finals, no real shock there. Now, can the Pistons win to force Game 7? Yes, I think they do, with or without RIP. However, they will need him in Game 7.

Not too many plans this weekend, other than hopefully getting my smoked windshield and levers installed, neither have showed up yet though. Anyone have some good links on how to cut the fairings for sliders? Oh and I'll probably go fishing w/ my dad and bro as well.

What's up with you?

It was a good comeback by the Pistons, but they fell short in the end. Hopefully RIP is ready to play in a couple of days, he hyperextended the elbow again last night, looked worse though. The Lakers probably close out tonight.

Been playing the Top Spin 3 beta and it's pretty damn good, I'll try to get some screenshots and a Q&A started tonight.

Unfortunately a lot of companies these days take it upon themselves to lock certain websites from being viewed on employee computers. It seems that OS has made its way onto a number of these lists meaning that our normal domain name (operationsports.com) is often inaccessible from work place computers.

Many of you already know this, but for those who are at home now and wondering if you'll ever get to spend your day browsing OS from your work PC the good news is that we have set up a dedicated domain just for you. Next time you're at work and looking for an OS fix type in www.osatwork.com and unless your corporate tech department is a part of the OS Haters Club you'll be able to access OS from work.

DAMAGE VIDEO HITS HARD AS GRID™ GEARS UP FOR ITS JUNE 3 RELEASE

Codemasters Unveils All-new glass-shattering,
steel-bending, time-reversing GRID damage video

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 28, 2008 - The finish line looms for Codemasters® as the June 3 launch for GRID™ draws near. For the game that delivers a truly smashing racing experience, Codemasters has released a new video that showcases GRID's incredible damage engine that drives the game's signature high-impact moments.

In the video, GRID Chief Game Designer Ralph Fulton provides commentary and details about the innovative new Flashback feature over video footage of an Aston Martin DBR9, Dodge Challenger Concept, Nissan Skyline and over 20 other thrilling race cars crashing, smashing and taking punishment in this bone-jarring demonstration of the EGO Engine™'s unparalleled damage system.

Intrinsic to GRID's intense, aggressive wheel-to-wheel races are its spectacular, genre-leading crashes. Up to 70 individual components on each car will damage, break or fall off depending on the severity of each collision. The damage doesn't stop there: glass shatters, carbon fibre will splinter and steel bends all in jaw-dropping real time.

Debris from damaged cars becomes a persistent danger on the tracks and must be negotiated. Taking damage also plays a vital part in gameplay, as each car can take dents, scrapes and bashes to its bodywork, but too much damage on the wheels and engine bay will affect performance, ultimately terminally.

Going for that audacious over-taking manoeuvre and nailing the racing line pushes drivers and their cars to the very limit. If players go beyond that limit and write off their car, it may be time to take advantage of GRID's new Flashback feature, which gives players a chance replay the action and try again.

The replay function can first be used to inspect the detail of each impact through a rotating camera and witness the carnage unfold frame by frame in stunning slow-motion. Evolving the replay technology, players can rewind to any point within the replay and then use Flashback to once again take control of the car and see if they can avoid the smash on the next run. Depending on the chosen difficulty setting, players can take advantage of Flashback up to five times during race at any point. Racing purists can, however, opt to disable the feature when in Pro Mode.

Gamers can experience GRID's amazing damage engine and Flashback feature right now in the demo, available from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace, PLAYSTATION® Network and www.grid-game.com for the Games For Windows demo. For the full game, get ready to race to retail stores on June 3 when the game launches for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Games For Windows®.

PALGN has posted their preview of SBK-08 Superbike World Championship.

Quote:
"Core to the game is the championship mode, which plays out as you'd expect, with qualifying before the main event and points scored in races tallied up over the season. In addition to this and the assortment of quick race and time trial modes there are a series of challenges. These ask you to complete certain objectives under set race conditions. While unlikely to offer as much replay value as competing in a full season, these should offer gamers something else to do if the championship is proving too tough."

PALGN has posted their preview of Don King Presents: Prizefighter, along with an interview with the Executive Producer, Matthew Seymour.

Quote:
"Interestingly enough however, excessive training can actually be a detriment in Prizefighter's career mode, which seems to be the focal point of the game. The Career Mode follows your character through a documentary-like story, where certain boxers are interviewed and talk about the progression of your character and whatnot. It's not only boxers however, as the game also introduces girlfriends and even former girlfriends, so the career mode has a certain level of immersion. As you progress, you must train in order to become stronger in attributes, however you also have to balance this aspect with media coverage, which includes the dating of girls and such. It's not essential that you do this, as you can train all you want and completely ignore the media, or the other way around, but it's certainly an interesting feature and mixes things up in the single player mode."

Hmmm... The Spurs didn't get the call at the end of the game last night, but I gotta agree, it was the right call. I was waiting for the whistle that never came, but oh well, glad to see the Spurs are on their way out.

The big game 5 tonight w/ the Stones and C's. Probably won't be throwing up a screenshots thread, unless it gets out of hand.

The fender eliminator came in yesterday and I installed it with a few hiccups, but it looks great!
