Fantastic goaltending in the Northeast, nice to see the comparison vs the Atlantic, where goalies seem to avoid the puck like the plague.

THE LEADERS
let me know what you guys think of a format like this for each division, might give everyone a better idea of what each team is looking like because you get to see more stats.
Made some minor tweaks to the lineup as the team started to stumble just a bit. McNeill was pushed to the 3rd line with Pirri coming down to play on the 4th line. Also, moved Neiderreiter up to the 2nd line and moved Beach down to the 3rd line. By no means was this a demotion for Beach, as he has been great, it's just an opportunity to get a more balanced lineup out on the ice. Hopefully we see some improved scoring THROUGHOUT the lineup in the second half, not just the top tier guys. That was the main reason for the recent "struggles", the top tier guys slowed down, and there wasn't enough depth scoring, let's see if these changes make a difference. Also, this team is very streaky right now, could be a product of youth, who knows, but at one point, lost 5 of 6, then won 5 straight on the road. They also seem prone to blowing 3 goal leads, that needs to stop ASAP.
I'm rather concerned about the lack of depth scoring with this team. It's not whole lines, just guys here or there that I think we can get way more out of, for example, Connolly. We kept him over Toffoli, and while Toffoli already has 17 goals for Philly, Connolly only has 14 POINTS. Not saying that we are too shocked by it because we are giving Grenier the shot at 2nd line Center. We've gone 40 games with it, there's no point in moving him from that spot now. We will see how the lines move forward here, but bring up a Gretzky, Boyce, Rourke, Yakupov, or Saad is not out of the question. There also might be some movement in the trade department given our large amount of cap space right now. If I feel like we can make another run then we might go out and acquire a rental, usually I don't like doing that, and I won't sacrifice the future to do so, we'll see what happens. Next update should be around the trade deadline. Also, Crawford needs to be better, those numbers are far too low for him, might see Niemi get a few more starts, he's earned it.

Changed up the lines before this one just a bit. McNeill bumped to the third line, Pirri dropped to the 4th, go figure.
(continued)
Line 4: Combined - 4 G / 8 A / 12 PTS / + 1
LW - Morbeck / C - McNeill / RW - Ritchie
LW - Morbeck / C - McNeill / RW - Ritchie
Two rookies debuting on this line, and overall they are a +1, I'll take it. At this point I would say that Ritchie has taken a step back, not playing bad, just want more out of him, even on the 4th line. Morbeck and McNeill have been impressive so far in their debut seasons. Each guy should continue to improve so I'm thinking about moving one off of this line and up to the third line. Outlook: Changes coming here as well, I think the move right now is to swap Pirri and McNeill to see if that furthers the development of McNeill, and gives a more experienced look to the 4th line.
D1: Combined - 3 G / 16 A / 19 PTS / + 14
D - Carlson / D - Tinordi
D - Carlson / D - Tinordi
Solid top pairing here, as both guys are doing their job in different ways. Carlson will be the guy taking the most shots and chances, while Tinordi will make sure everything is locked down defensively. So far it's working out just like that, Carlson is having a tremendous offensive season so far, and Tinordi has been on the ice as much as anyone, and doesn't show any signs of slowing down. Outlook: I don't anticipate any changes, as this team has been one of the best defensively in the NHL, and these two are a big part.
D2: Combined - 3 G / 13 A / 16 PTS / + 20
D - Leddy / D - Leonov
This pairing has been nothing short of spectacular. Each guy is a plus 10 on the season, and each guy can put the puck in the net, or set up a goal at a moments notice. These guys compliment each other so well on the ice. This is probably the future of the Hawks in the #1 and #2 spot if we already didn't have two young guys manning those spots.I'm not sure how much better Leddy will get, but Leonov should continue to improve, and for a homegrown product that is pretty exciting for us. Outlook: They are a combined +20 on the season, no reason to make any changes.
D3: Combined - 1 G / 9 A / 10 PTS / + 2
D - Spang / D - Fournier
Not bad production from the third pairing at all. Both guys are still very young, and have a full year of experience already. Both guys can continue to improve while playing third pairing minutes, which makes this team that much better. The six guys making up the Defensive unit have been tremendous this season. Outlook: Status quo for these guys, they feed off each other, and will only get better, no need to break them up.D - Spang / D - Fournier
G1: Combined - 14 W / 4 L / 6 SO
G - Crawford / G - Niemi
Wow, that's really all that can be said about this tandem right now. Of the 14 wins between the two, 6 of them are shut outs. Not a bad spot to be in offensively when all you've had to do is score once to win 6 times already this year.Crawford keeps this pace up he might be a lock for the Vezina. Outlook: Crawford is still locked up for a few more years at a great cap hit, and Niemi has improved every year, looks like he might be stepping in for Crawford when it's time.G - Crawford / G - Niemi
There you have it, a complete breakdown of the Hawks as they sit 1st in the NHL in points, and point %. Coming off two straight cups is there any reason to think that this team won't be able to make it three in a row? They are still getting better, and that is a scary thought for the entire NHL. Thanks for reading!
Line by line analysis brought to you by Blackhawks TV.
Line 1: Combined - 28 G / 38 A / 56 PTS / + 25
LW - Morin / C - Toews / RW - Kane
LW - Morin / C - Toews / RW - Kane
Best line in hockey? Might be. Morin leads the way in the goals department with 12 in 20 games, Toews is not too far behind with 10. This line can score anyway, and anyone on this line can put the puck in the net. It finally seems as thought Morin is becoming that elite sniper that so many people thought he could be. Last year he put up career highs in goals (26), assists (32), and points (58), he's on pace to smash all of those numbers this year. Toews and Kane seem more than willing to dish the puck this year, but it's Toews that is turning heads and getting serious consideration for the Hart Trophy this year. Outlook: Nothing is happening with this line, these guys should stay together all year.

Line 2: Combined - 14 G / 14 A / 28 PTS / + 21
LW - Beach / C - Grenier / RW - Connolly
LW - Beach / C - Grenier / RW - Connolly
Coming into the year many people thought this would be the line that would be key to the Hawks success, so far, so good. It's a little bit of a gamble having Grenier playing 2nd line Center, but we wouldn't have him there if we didn't think he could do it. Ultimately at this point in his career Grenier is a 3rd line Center, but we are in a position to try some things out, and I think he will be better because of it. This line has been solid, and teams are having issues matching their size. Beach 6'3", Grenier 6'5", and Connolly 6'2", that gives teams fits because all three can skate. Given that Connolly is the sniper on this line we chose to go with Beach at the opposite wing, and I like it so far, but a change could be in the offing. Hard to change anything right now, and this line should only get better. Outlook: Solid contributions have kept this line together, talks have begun about moving Nino up.
Line 3: Combined - 9 G / 8 A / 17 PTS / + 1
LW - Neiderreiter / C - Pirri / RW - Jensen
LW - Neiderreiter / C - Pirri / RW - Jensen
Definitely want more out of this line which is why the discussions have begun about moving Neids up a line. It's not necessarily what the 2nd line isn't doing, it's what the third line is. I think we can get more out of Neids, and I think that Jensen is going to be really good. But, at this point this line just isn't meshing like I thought it would. Pirri has been given the opportunity to be the third line Center, but I think it might be a bit much for the type of game he plays. I wouldn't say that we have been disappointed by this line, I just think it could, and should be more. Outlook: Changes coming, before anyone get's moved up, we might be messing with the bottom two lines only.

C - Claude Giroux
I love what Giroux has done for us, it has resulted in two cups. But, I think it was time to move on as we have a bevy of Centers in the system and the time is now to see if one of them can handle the 2nd line duties. JK Grenier (2012 - 1st Round - 24th Overall, first pick in our dynasty) will be slotted in the 2nd line Center position to start.
2016 Draft
Just unbelievable, I can't really say that it was a huge shock with this team based on how they started, but as the season wore on, it looked more and more like we would hope to compete and see what happens. Everyone stepped up, and played their role. One of the most clutch, desperate teams I've ever been apart of. Twice during this run the Hawks were down three games to two, and twice they forced a game seven on the road and won. The highlight had to be game 6, obviously, but more specifically the Captain, Jonathan Toews. Toews scored four goals in game six to cap off his Conn Smythe run. On to the off season, and after this season, I can't wait to see what next year brings us as we are one year older, and I think better...

Analysis and Prediction
----------------------------------------------------------------
The battle everyone has been waiting for. The Hawks are making their second straight trip to the Stanley Cup Finals and are hoping to walk away with their second straight Stanley Cup. Tale of two seasons this year and last, this year was up and down, young guys were thrown into the fire, while last year the Hawks were riding high on expectations and performance. Can the Cardiac Hawks, who have been down 3-2 in the last two series do it again? Or are they about to run out of gas? Hawks have played the max, 21 total games in these playoffs, and in every case the Hawks have come out on top. Their challenge? Beat Reimer. Something no one in these playoffs has been able to do. Reimer sports a 1.60 goals against, and a mind boggling .950 save percentage. The defense is a strength for the Leafs, while it is the only weakness for the Hawks, not because of poor play, but because of youth. Will the youngsters on the backend be able to perform at a high level on the biggest stage? Time will tell, but in 21 games these Hawks have gone from young and inexperienced to playoff vets ready to drink from the cup, and for some of them, again.... Drop the puck!
Prediction - Hawks in 7 (It's a trend)
