Analysis and Prediction

How can anyone hate this goaltending matchup. Two stellar goaltenders going head to head, and it should be a good one. Something doesn't seem right about this one though. If you did a little deeper, you can see why. The Rangers have the least amount of regulation wins of any Eastern Conference playoff team, no shootouts here. Also, a down year for King Henrik, he is a big game goalie, so I'm sure he will answer the bell, but you know Ryan Miller will as well. On top of that, the Sabres are one of the best road teams in the NHL, all of a sudden the deck seems stacked against the two seed.
Prediction - Sabres in 6

Analysis and Prediction
----------------------------------------------------------------

The Capitals vs the Islanders? Wait, the Islanders made the playoffs? I feel like Jim Mora all over again, playoffs!? But they did, and looking at the numbers it's hard to find out why. A big reason could be Rick DiPietro who, if he is adequately taped together could be the starter in this series, he posted better number then Nabakov, but again, health is an issue. The Caps are, and have been flying high all year long, Ovechkin paced them with 102 points, but Backstrom was close behind at 101, that's a lethal combo folks. I don't think it matters who it between the pipes in this one.
Prediction - Capitals in 4

GM Stan Bowman confirmed the worst fears of Hawk fans and teammates alike in that Nick Leddy has suffered a broken collarbone, and is expected to miss three weeks. Hopefully Leddy improves quickly, and the moment the plan is to insert Sami Lepisto into Leddy's spot in the rotation, pairing up with Hjalmarsson but don't be surprised to see Steve Montador assume that role. Back with more before the puck drops for game 1.

The latest tweaks to my sliders really seem to be working. It's a challenge for me to win games now, if I don't bring it, then I'm going to get pounded. I was outplayed this whole game, but this team found a way.

If there were Shanaban's in this I'm sure he would we get one. I spent almost the whole first period shorthanded. Hope this lost point doesn't come back to bite me.

On the other hand, a huge win for the Jackets as they push to get in the playoffs
