2012 Entry Level Draft
The war room is all set for this years draft. We spent hours upon hours on scouting this past season so we are confident in our abilities to make the right picks not only early in the draft but in the later rounds as well.

RUMORS CIRCULATING --
A small but huge rumor coming out of the Hawks camp is that Hossa could be expendable if they find the right deal.
Other players of less stature that could be on the move include Steve Montador via trade.

Start of Off-Season; Hawks Looking to Add on the Backend
After the embarassing exit in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Chicago Blackhawks are looking to add some speed to push the play a little more. "We just feel that O'Donnell is better suited to be a coach at this point in his career," said an unnamed source. Sami Lepisto will probably be replaced as well as some players were heard as saying "I hope he goes away forever." The coaching staff is hoping the young fourth line has gained some experience and will improve upon the progress they made this past year. The Hawks were happy with their Scoring depth last season but are hoping to have more consistent scoring from the top two lines at least, as some of their star players had career lows in points this year. Hopefully needs will be met in the off-season thru development, trade, free agent, and draft. 112 points is great but that is not the goal of our organ-I-zation.
Congrats to the Washington Capitals, look forward to knocking you off your perch next season.

Season's Over, not even going to bother with posting a graphic or a box score. Everything fell apart, nothing went right. On to the off-season..... obviously there are needs, as finishing with a 2 seed was not the goal this season. I will post the awards shortly.

Took a 1-0 lead to the third, they scored in the 1st minute, and then Corey Perry buried a slap shot with 20 seconds left. Just like that the Hawks are down 1-0 on home ice, game 2 is a must win.

Oh boy, this one worries me. The Hawks have offensive talent, but for whatever reason they finished in the bottom half of the league in scoring. The Ducks are just the opposite, they put the puck in the net, early, and ofter all season long. Where the Hawks do excel is the defensive side of the game, they are one of the best defensive teams in the NHL, and they will have to utilize matchups to get their best defensive forwards out against the top line of Anaheim, which might be the best line in hockey. I think a big advantage will be the Hawks power play as it is one of the best in the league, and the Ducks PK is not good, at all. The Hawks have improved greatly over the last half of the season in the PK department.

Interesting one here, both teams seem to be middle of the back, especially the Blues. Everything seems to point to the Blues being a lower level team, or maybe it means they are full of winners and can win close games, much like the games in the playoffs. Edmonton however seems like they are the leagues shiny new toy, talent everywhere, and young talent. I think they have the best team between the two, but their youth and fact that they dealt Khabibulin mid season could be something that hurts them.

This could be one of those throw the records out type of series. Both teams hate each other, divisional opponents, and they always seem to have back and forth games. However, I think the Kings are a step above the Sharks as they have put together one of the best years in Franchise history. If Niemi can't recapture prior playoff magic I don't see the Sharks having a chance.

Detroit was the cream of the NHL crop from opening night until the final buzzer. There is no reason to think that they will stop in the postseason, scoring depth, unstoppable offense at times, and a stellar netminder have a lot of people believing that the Wings will take home the cup. They can't get too ahead of themselves as they have to fend off a pesky Columbus team, but they shouldn't have much trouble with that.

Probably the best, and the most difficult matchup to predict. While Philadelphia boasts an impressed goals for / goal against differential, Carolina is even better. Philadelphia was an outstanding home ice team throughout the season, however Carolina has proven that it really doesn't matter where they play, they are rather consistent. The line on this one would have to be a pick, two 100 point teams in the first round, should be great.

A really fun matchup here, a great offensive team against a solid defensive team. This goalie matchup is nothing to sneeze at either, two young, outstanding goalies. The clear advantage if there is any in this matchup would be the Penguins special teams. They are mind boggling good, I mean really good, it's hard to get any better. On the flip side, the Penguins are just average on the road, and they will have to win one on the road in order to take this series.
Prediction - Penguins in 7
