For the last couple of days...MLB Baseball has been running a FREE preview, I am not exactly sure as to how long it will last....but I gotta say....this is very cool.....at this exact moment 4:27pm...there are at least 6 games being televised and apparantly another 5 or 6, at least, to be televised this afternoon / evening. Talk about a fans wet dream....

SS Carlos Triunfel: Mariners' shortstop of the future stole 30 bases last season and has some pop in his bat. He just turned 19, was signed by Mariners as a 16-year-old.
RHP Phillippe Aumont: The 6-foot-7 left-hander was shut down early last year because of elbow tendinitis. GM Jack Zduriencik has said Aumont will start in Class A this spring.
3B Matt Tuiasosopo: Woodinville HS grad could be ready to take over if Mariners don't keep Adrian Beltre beyond this season.
C Adam Moore: ... Read More

8 innings.....0 R.....0 ER.....4 K.....1 BB.....on 96 pitches.

There just isn't a lot more to add to this to be honest.....I can't remember the last time Washburn pitched as well as he did this morning. I suppose I can fill a couple of paragraphs with some overused...overly dramatic analogies. But I don't think I will. Sometimes less is more....sometimes not saying something is saying everything....sometimes, you just don't need to say a word. Those that watched the game.....those

Like most Ms fans, the subject of Randy Johnson elicits any number of comments and opinions. Me....I liked the guy....and I have always had the opinion that when he left Seattle....so left the chance of a World Series. Very few teams have been competitive in the playoffs or Series without that dominating ace....a guy capable of winning 2 games...or more, in a 5 game or 7 game series Johnson was and has been just that kinda guy. He did it with Arizone...and could have...and should have, when he was ... Read More

Ok.....last nights 9th inning implosion was a real ballbuster. Period. I am not going to spend any time mentioning what I would refer to as an ordeal....watching it was rough, standing on the mound must have been gut wrenching...and from the managers seat....ok...no more on this...one last thought....the first two games have been encouraging for the loyal Ms fans....they are doing just what they have been talking about needing to do....the small things. Swipe a base....hit and run....sacrifice....I ... Read More

A "taller" Carlos Silva will take the mound in his first start of the regular season Wednesday.

Posture has been one of the things Mariners pitching coach Rick Adair worked on with Silva during the latter stages of Spring Training, and it seemed to work wonders in the righty's final tuneup for Wednesday night's 5:10 p.m. PT game against the Twins at the Metrodome.
Silva held the Padres scoreless for four innings on April 2 before surrendering two runs in the fifth inning. He ... Read More

Bad news for the Mariners and Ms fans....with the hopes of an immediate turn around from last season....several free agent signings and a management overhaul...the Mariners best player and arguably one of the best all around players in the game is suffering from a bleeding ulcer....for the first time in nine seasons, the Mariners will play a regular-season opener without Ichiro Suzuki in the lineup.

The right fielder was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Friday after being diagnosed ... Read More

Last week I made a "prediction" for lack of a better term as to the Ms opening day roster....man, I misfired on more than a couple of players. Apparantly they will open the season with no left handed relievers and have outrighted Mike Morse to Tacoma, that I found somewhat of a surprise....I am going to do some research, see what I can shake out of the proverbial baseball tree and post the actual 25 man roster for opening day.

.........more to come.

..... I wonder how many people will use a sick day or just call in sick period....I cannot honestly remember the last time I worked on opening day, this year will be no different.

PHILLIPPE AUMONT,RHP : Aumonts upside is as high as they come...but... that ascent has been stalled a bit due to elbow trouble, which sidelined him for two months during his pro debut in 2008. Drafted in the first round of the 2007 Draft out of high school in Quebec, the 6-foot-7 220-pounder has the kind of power stuff you'd expect from someone with that physique, including a fastball considered the best in the organization. Still something of a raw product, he's working on refining the rest of ... Read More

Finally....some good news out of the Mariner camp. This afternoon they announced that Brandon Morrow will be the Closer and they have abandoned the "closer by committee" approach. Even a less desirable possibility was Miquel Batista being the finisher. I am sure he does the best he can....but after last year a guy can only expect the worse (Silva also) and hope for better. Anyway....this is some good news for the Ms contingency and I am predicting that not only will he fill the role nicely but he ... Read More
