A look at Yankee Stadium, before the start of the game.

You just experienced a full body throw from the Grandy man, to get the runner out at home plate. Please tune in to every Yankee game!

Alfredo Aceves was surely an "Ace" out of the bullpen, as hew as able to earn his first win on the season!

Robinson Cano was able to turn this beautiful double play, but shortly after he left the game with a shoulder injury. He will be okay.

Nino surely makes the best out of his playing time, as he shows us another great defensive play!

As you can see, Lance Berkman did not hit this ball on the barrel of that bat, or anywhere close to it! But somehow manged to drive this ball out of the park, to left field.

Maybe not as exciting as the other plays, but I thought this was great footwork at first, by Lance Berkman!

Yankees pound James Shields, scoring 4 runs off him in win.

A crowd of 51,300 fans at Yankee Stadium went home happy last night, as they saw their Yankees pull out a close 8-5 win over the Rays.

Lance Berkman provided the offense, collecting 3 hits -- including a home run -- and 3 RBI.

After starter Cliff Lee departed, Alfredo Aceves cam into the game and manged to earn a win, his 1st of the season, tossing 3 and two thirds innings of relief and allowing no runs on 3 hits.

Lance Berkman was asked about the game, and had this to say, "We were hoping to take a bit of James Shields, and it worked out, as we hit him pretty hard."

Tonight the Yankees are in New York, opening up the subway series with Andy Pettitte (6-1, 3.67) opposing John Maine (4-1, 4.02) and the Mets.

Robinson Cano went 2-for-3 in the game, belting a home run and driving in 2 runs.

Andy "you so good at pitching" Pettitte, earns his 6th win on the season!

Jorge juiced one! Joe Mauer, and Home Plate Umpire Charlie Sawyer couldn't help but to watch!

The fans in the second deck, prepare to catch Jorge's home run! Take your pick on who will come down with the ball!

Mark Teixeira has no problem with hitting 5th in the lineup, as he went 4-for-4 on the day!

Robinson Cano is finally showing life with his bat! As he drives this ball to center field!

Denard Span did every thing he could to bring Cano's homer back, but it was way out of his reach!

Yankees pick up consecutive win number 4, beating the Twins at home.

The Yankees scored a fairly easy 8-2 win over the Twins today, with a crowd of 52,325 fans on hand at Yankee Stadium.

Mark Teixeira homered and drove in 3 runs to lead the way for the Yankees.

Allowing 5 hits in 6 innings, Andy Pettitte was able to pick up his 6th win of the season with some -- okay, a lot -- of help from his 'pen.

Andy was asked after the game about his team's efforts. "It's always a good day when we put up 8 runs like we did today."

Roy Oswalt (2-3, 4.87) will get the call for the Yankees tonight against John Lackey (1-1,5.75) and the Red Sox, who come into town for the first game of a new series.

The Tampa Bay Rays have placed numerous players on the Trade Block already (Rafael Soriano, Carlos Pena, Carl Crawford, Matt Garza, and Lance Cormier.) , this early in the year. One of those players happens to be Carl Crawford, the Yankees have major interest in bringing him to the organization.

Yankees get offensive in win, routing Twinkies at Yankee Stadium.

Today's game at Yankee Stadium ended in a 6-1 victory for the Yankees, as the Twinkies simply weren't able to catch up.

Cliff Lee allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 4 to earn his 2nd win of the season.

Robinson Cano collected 2 RBI and went 1-for-4 to spark the offense.

The series wraps up today with a mtchup of Andy Pettitte (5-1, 3.98) against Carl Pavano (1-2, 4.54) the latter trying to prevent his visiting Twinkies from being swept.

Mark Teixeira hopes to add to his 14-game hitting streak.

Brett Gardner sustained an injury (Pulled Hamstring) while stealing a base during today's game. He will be out for about 2 to 3 weeks. The Yankees will place him on the 15-Day DL. Greg Golson will be called up and taking over the duties in LF.

Follow the Lee-der, Max Scherzer does it!

Max Scherzer sure matched Cliff Lee pitch for pitch in this classic showdown!

Road series starts poorly for Yankees, who drop opener to Tigers.

The Yankees and Tigers worked overtime tonight, as New York lost in walk-off fashion, 4-3 in 1 innings. Despite going 9 strong innings, and allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, Cliff Lee didn't factor into the decision, though he does get a "quality start," his 3rd of the season.

David Aardsma, who entered the game in extra frames, was on the hook for defeat, giving up 1 run in 0 innings of relief.

Francisco Cervelli went 1-for-2, collecting 1 RBI for the club. Cliff Lee was asked what he thought of the game. "It's always tough to lose a game in the latter innings, but sometimes you have to tip your hat to your opponent and move on.

The series continues under the lights tomorrow night, with Andy Pettitte (5-0, 4.00) going for the Yankees against Jeremy Bonderman (2-3, 12.30) and the Tigers.

Yankees get to ace closer Jonathan Papelbon, beat Red Sox with a late rally.

The Yankees and Red Sox needed extra innings to decide an AL East showdown, with New York eventually winning 6-2 in 10 innings at Fenway Park. The club was helped big time by Nick Johnson, who had 2 RBI and whose lone hit was a home run.

Mariano Rivera ended up being the victor, eschewing his usual "S" for a "W," his 1st of the season. Mariano Rivera, discussing his team's performance, said,"We always like to come back and win, and we were able to do just that against their bullpen."

The Yankees wrap up the series behind their best pitcher, C.C. Sabathia (4-1, 3.43), who will be opposed by Jon Lester (3-2, 7.12) when the series concludes this afternoon at Fenway Park.

The Yankees acquired 1B Lance Berkman from the Astros for 1B Nick Johnson, RF Edwar Gonzalez and SP Kei Igawa.
