First Half

Just going to start off with talking bout 1st half. it was a boring one for certain. first points was a FG by Mid Tenn but this was a lot bigger key in the game besides a GT goal line stand. The Blue Raiders starting QB was knocked out but even bigger than that it was for the whole season with a broken collarbone! So the jackets looked to pick it up knowing a key player was done but our O struggled and managed a FG as well so it was 3-3 bout half way through the second quarter. As we stopped them we get a drive going but stalls out with just over 2 min to go in the half and a couple big plays later Mid Tenn punches it in on a 4 yard pass from their back up QB and the O continue to struggle and it was 3-10 going into half. Upset Alert!!

Second Half

So opening up the O came out just as struggling as before but downed a punt at the 1 yard line! Huge play! maybe play of the game. So first play GT sends 2 backers off the edge as Mid Tenn not a real power team runs the option from shot gun the QB is hit by our outstanding DE Peters and misses the pitch man and the ball rolls out of the endzone so 2 points Tech! So with bout 5 min to go in the 3rd its 5-10 tech trailing still. After the free kick it is a quick 3 and out by GT. The next possession was a huge play by the D again an INT was the case by CB Sweeting. With all the Momentum Tech takes it and scores from 10 yards out on a 3 & goal! Having a 1 point lead we go for 2 and get it so with just under 2 min to go in the 3rd its Tech finally leading for the first time in this one 13-10. After that something spark in our O with the D forcing a punt we Take it again down the field and put up 6 points so leading 20-10 with 6 min to go in the game you think easy W now. Not so fast my friends. A huge play leads Mid Tenn getting down to the 1 and rushing it in from there and closing the gap to just 3 points with still 5 min to go! We take the ball and drive down the field we were 35 yards a way and faced with a 4&inches only up by 3 with just over 3 minutes to go now.. a punt would be risking so we decided to run a sweep which was averaging bout 3 yards a carry well Mid Tenn must have read it perfect as our running back is hit in the backfield.... but wait he bounces off! and then makes a nice cut past a few defenders and takes it all the way for 6! that pretty much sums it up after getting a few stops and just running out the clock and finishing it with a short FG final Georgia Tech 30 and Mid Tenn 17

Recap/Preview

So coming into this one i picked Tech cruising 35-14. Well after being down 3-10 i thought we would be lucky enough to get a win but our boys came out and played great ball in the second half and capitalized on the other teams mistakes. A great game by Washington was key in this one we need that the rest of the year for sure! Now all Focus goes to Kansas as we head back home to face a talented Jayhawk squad who is 1-1 on the year and was upset last week by NIU so you think their be firing back at us Jackets. Yet i still see us getting the Win ill have the score predict in Kansas vs Georgia Tech preview post.

Game Notes
This one should rack another W on to Georgia Techs record. Facing an 0-1 team in Mid Tenn. Who just lost at Purdue 3-28 and gave up 178 rushing yards to a no where near the talent of the Jackets rush game. The Jackets look to continue to roll in this one as they should but has to play well still to win and no over look this team and get upset. I see Tech running away in this one Literally. As i Have Georgia Tech 35 and Mid Tenn 14.
Posted on September 26, 2011 at 01:08 AM.
Well coming into this one there wasnt much talk facing a division 2 team the jackets were expected to roll. and they did just that. It all began with Washington on the very first play taking it all the way to the house on a 59 yd run! then it just continue with the Jackets finishing with 539 total offensive yards and 508 of those coming on the ground. As the jackets placed the second string in during the 3rd quarter to avoid injuries the score still grew with back up QB S.Days coming in and rushing for 2 long touchdowns. The Jackets rolled in this one 73-3. As the second string D was the ones to give up the late Field goal! But the jackets better not concentrate to much on this win because no one wants to see a Week 2 upset by Mid Tenn. Georgia Tech should remain unbeaten after that one if they play to their ability.

This year the Georgia Tech yellow Jackets take the field with high aspirations. The threat of the triple option is always tough to defend and Coach Johnson has really installed it into Georgia Tech. If all is run correctly they could be just about anyone the step on the field against this year. A new QB will control the offense this year it will be a Junior Tevin Washington. Along with him this year as a speed threat will be another Junior RB Orwin Smith who will be the main pitch man this year. As for the D it should be pretty solid and will have to be with out a real pass threat this games might be some low scoring ones. Tech will face a rather tough schedule as the non conference games are just two but will be at Mid Tenn st. first which should be an easy W. then will Host Kansas in week 3. After that we start conference play off with North Carolina at home but then will travel the next week to highly regarded NC State. Looking on down the schedule we will have Maryland, Clemson, highly talented Virginia Tech all at home. We will have to travel to Virginia, Miami and Duke. While then finishing the year off with rival Georgia. So we hope to lead the Jackets to an unbeaten year. With hopes of an ACC Championship and even a National Championship if we can dominated with the Triple Threat Offense and sound D! See you at the Jackets Nest!

The irish need to quit with these OT games especially after this one. The Irish were defeated in OT by Michigan 28-21 it was a close defensively fought game the Irish made mistakes and had no offensive power in the second half at all. Heres the story for you.

First Half
The Irish start of with the biggest bang you could as T.Riddick took the opening kickoff 96 yards for a TD so just :11 into the game it was the irish up 7-0. Things continue to look up as at the end of the first the Irish controlled the tempo and shut down Robinson as it was 7-3. Heading into the second quarter the defenses still were in control until with 4:02 before half T.Jones caught a crossing route from T.Rees and took it 70 yards to the endzone which put the irish up 14-3 headed to the locker room. So if the game would have stay the same as the first half easy W for the Irish but the Irishmen were not so lucky this night in Michigan.

Second Half/Overtime
So the second half kickoff both team offenses continue to be hit and miss until the Wolverines got a long drive with Robinson finishing it off from just 3 yards out placing them down by 4. The next possession the Irish shoved it down Michigans throat and caped it off with a 30 yard rushing TD by C.Wood who was shut down compared to last game vs USF. Michigan then took the ball and had a big play which was called a touchdown at first but later reviewed and overturned but The wolverines just being a yard out they must score right? Wrong! the Irish D who played great the whole game stopped in them on a great goalline stand which started from the 1 but the Irish pushed them all the way back to bout the 4 yard line and Michigan had to settle for 3 at the end of the 3rd quarter. As we head to the 4th Notre Dame was up 21-13 and had the ball and all the momentum after the great stand by the D not giving up 6. But michigan D had been just as good as both team went back and forth with having to punt. Michigan had enough time for one last drive and was doing it by running Robinson which they didnt have this whole game till late. With just 56 seconds left Michigan throws it to the back of the endzone.. ruled incomplete 3rd and long now.. But wait say it aint so as the Irish won a review earlier here and not to mention gave them a second life vs USF. It was a booth review and overturned TOUCHDOWN MICHIGAN! but they must go for 2 with little time to go. None other than Mr.Robinson rushed it in for 2 so we were all tied 21-21. Yet the Irish had two timeouts and 50 seconds to work with. it was 3 and very long for the Irish deep in their own territory with just 33 seconds to go. a TE found his way to be wide open over the Middle of the field T.Rees connect to keep the drive going. As the irish rush to the line 2 timeout 20 seconds to go they miss on a couple route so ball on their 49 not yet field goal range they go the air and get it down to bout the 38 still to fair out with the wind at their faces they use a timeout one remaining 7 seconds to go. They need to get closer T.Rees drops back hits Jones on a crossing route runs but is wrapped up and held up as the clock ticks to all zeros.. Overtime for the second week in a row for the Irish when this one should have already been decided! Notre dame wins the toss picks D of course who has been sound all day no big plays to speak of for Michigan.. but we spoke to soon the very first play Michigan throws a pass and puts in after breaking a tackle or two so they lead it 28-21 and all momentum is theirs after poor clock management and they big play to start OT. Notre dame begins their drive few good runs by C.Wood get them a first on the 11 yard line.. two rushes later its 3rd and goal from the 7 incomplete! this is it game on the line 7 yards out 4th down.. T.Rees rolls out all receivers covered.. he is rushed and has to throw it for the game ball tipped and falls shamelessly to the ground.. Ball game Michigan win in OT 28-21 over your Irish

Game Recap

So things that lost Notre Dame this winnable game.. Irish driving up 14-3 in Michigan territory T.Rees throws a sicking pick to kill it.. which wouldve decided this game in regulation.. but the bigger factor was the poor clock awareness by the Irish WR getting tackled in bounds cost them in this one if he just goes down the kick the FG ball game irish 2-0 but no we fall to 1-1 most likely out of the rankings. Disappointing for sure for the Irish but the D looked great and if they keep playing this well this year can still be a great one. Notre Dame will now have a home game vs #14 Ranked opponent Michigan State. should be a great one again hope this one ends better dont wanna get swept by the michigan team.. Well see you in South bend. Fightin Irish Go!

Game Notes
Both teams come into the one looking for the second W of the year. This will be the first game at night ever played in the Big House so it should be a great atmosphere. T.Rees for the irish will start again despite not the best showing last game vs USF. D.Robinson of course will play in this one and looked pretty sound vs Western mich. No Key injuries really in the one so we should have a close game and it should be a good one in Ann Arbor!

Well easy win for the #21 ranked Irish not so fast my friends.. The South Florida Bulls came in the underdog and knew it but was not going to go away easy in this game.

First Half
The game was crazy Starting out with South Florida jumping out on the Irish 14-0. The first Td was on the irish first drive when T.Rees threw a pick 6's which Rees would end up throwing 2 picks in the game with 0 tds so we will watch the QB talk closely to see if D.Crist will get a shot or if the starter will still be Rees. But back to the game... the Irish battled back with an INT of their own which would make it 14-14 but a late field goal by the bulls had the Irish down 14-17 going into the locker room.

Second Half
The irish first drive was a complete bust then south florida would put 6 up on the irish in just two plays on their first drive of the second half so the Irish trailed 14-24 going into the 4th. The Irish would score early on in the 4th thanks to a nice drive which took up most of the 3rd quarter. The South florida starting QB which killed the Irish all game was injuried early in the 4th. The back up was not as much as a duel threat and his first pass in the Irish pick it off which then led to the tying 36 yd FG with 3:06 left in the game. This is where the crazyness started! The bulls were driving it down the field and with Daniels out which was much more of a runner than his back up the offense was not the same. They decided to run the option. The QB was getting hit and the D was in the right spot as CB L.Wood would grab the pitch and take it 68 yards to the house with just 2:00 to go. Irish pull it out with that play right? Not yet the bulls say as they just straight up drive down the field on the irish and punch it in from just 3 yards away this time with just :57 to go. So do the irish just kill the clock and take this things into OT knowing they have the home crowd behind them.. No they attempt to drive it down the ball is their own 40 or so and as Rees drops back to pass he is sacked as he comes to the ground he fumbles the ball and USF returns it all the way to the zone with just :16 left. At this point the Irish is crushed but Coach Kelly just didnt think Rees fumble that ball so he threw the red flag out there. As we all watched hoping and praying the Ref announced there was no fumble on the play therefore no touchdown for the Bulls! Still hope for the Irish they punt and USF just takes into OT.

Overtime

Its not over.. Its overtime!! With the crazy ending of the 4th quarter one could only imagine how this game would end and it was no disappointment. Both team first drives were 3 and field goal. So heading into the second OT the irish needed some offense and they got it and C.Wood punched his 3 touchdown in at a key time. But the Bulls would answer with a passing touchdown of their own. We head to the 3rd OT the bulls start with the ball and get a first down or two but the D holds and force a 39 yard Field Goal. It was not the Bulls day though their kicker missed one early in the game and would do the same here as he pushed it wide right! All the Irish needed was a field goal the run the ball a couple times with Wood who had a great game and was named player of the game. They drive down and set up a 29 yard Field Goal and Ruffer comes on and hit again as he was perfect 3-3 on the day and this won them the game!

Recap

So it was quite the game for the Fighting Irish. Many thought ND would roll in this one but hey, a win is win. A 3 overtime thriller the fans got a game for the ages for sure today in south bend. Next game the Irish will have to play alot better if they wanna stay in the top 25 and undefeated of course as they travel to the Big House! Where they will play 1-0 Michigan who defeated Western Mich. 44-20 last week. Can the Irish shut down QB D.Robinson? We will wait and see.. See you in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The Irish come into the year ranked #21 in the Nation and as always a team that could compete for the National Title. Yet the past couple years have been a disappointment with the Irish finishing 8-5 last year which was Brian Kellys first year with Notre Dame even though the won the Sun Bowl theres defiantly bigger expectations this year for Coach Kelly. As for the Irish the man in command on the field will be T.Rees who started some games late last year for the Irish he was named the start so far this year instead of last years starter D.Crist. "itll be a competition all year long for the QB spot but we will really like what Tommy has done so far this spring but we will see what happens." Coach Kelly said. As for the Schedule it looks promising for the Irish getting to play Mich. State & USC at home but they will have to travel to Michigan the second game of the year and also travel to preseason ranked #3 Stanford Cardinal which will both be huge task for Notre Dame to win but must do so to try to claim that crystal ball at the end of the year. They will play South Florida at home to start the year off which the irish are big favorites in. Im excited to see what will happen this year for the Irish.

Colorado coming into this one knew that it was a must win or this would automatically be considered a failed year. This one started off bad with USC jumping out to a quick 27-0 first half lead! Yet colorado was not going away easy coming back and making it 34-14 at half and then scoring on the opening drive it was just 34-21 early in the 3rd. But all game the rushing game for USC killed the buffs. HB M.Tyler had 27 att, 340 yds, and 6 TDS!! unbelievable and exactly why we are ranked last in the nation on Defense. As we went to the 4th it was just a 16 point game.. but the buffalos got burnt on a 40 yd td pass from back up QB Scroggins and it was all over from there. T.Hansen was back for this game but defiantly not as sharp as he had been earlier this season had good yardage thanks to the long td passes but also had 4 INTS! Which cost us today vs the Trojans. There seems to be no where for this season to go. The only bright spot was upsetting #9 at the Stanford but it has been overlooked thanks to the blow outs to teams we couldve beat. So now we just sit and wait for this season to end as we get to host Arizona next week which is 7-2 on the year but will be coming off their own loss to Utah so maybe just maybe theres a upset alert this week! Go Buffs!!

Game Notes
Coming into this game both team are at the bottom of the Pac-12 not only the conference slackers but most of the NCAA is playing better ball than these two. As for the offenses QB for USC Barkley is out for this and the remainder of the year. For colorado QB T.Hansen is probable for the game and boy have the buffs missed this guy it just hasnt been the same team without him. So if he plays I believe Colorado can beat USC wouldnt be surprised if they cant get things going without him once again..Even with out Hansen the buffs have worked their way to the #1 offense in the nation but as for the saying "Defense wins championships" Colorado can be the best testament to this! As they are #120 in the nation on D and their record of 2-6 proves Defense matters! Hopefully our guys can get things going this game and finish the rest of the year on a high note! Well hope to see you in Bolder. Go Buffs!

So the nightmare in Bolder,CO continues and its only gotten worse! This time losing to pac-12 foe Ari st. who was equality as bad coming in but they just separated themselves from colorado. So now colorado sit all alone at the bottom of the pac-12 not sure if they can pull of anymore wins the rest of the year we can only hope so.. So stay tuned to see if the nightmares continues even more vs USC next week!

Game Notes
Well this is going to be a battle to see who is the better of the worst here tonight! both teams at the bottom of the Pac-12 at struggling big time. Arizona State has one big win with beating utah on the road 31-21 but doesnt compare to the bigger win Colorado had over number 9 at the time stanford 49-45! Arizona state coming off a bye week but the week before losing to Oregon 0-42.. and that one thing we can maybe tell how this game is going to go because Colorado last game was vs the same Oregon team and only losing 27-41 in quite the battle. So hopefully its a good one for the Buffs and can beat the sun devils in their house. We will just have to see! See you tonight at the Sun Devils stadium.. Go Buffs!

After upsetting Top ranked Stanford on the road and then getting blown out by average Washington, Colorado hoped to get on track and coming up with another huge win over top ranked oregon would have done just the trick. Unfortunately the buffs were unable to do so. They were missing their starting QB T.Hansen which defiantly cost them in this game as the back up Fresh (RS) QB Hirschman tried to come help lead this struggling team but was unable to do so with 5 int and one late in the forth which put the final nail in the coffin for Colorado. It was a close one all tied at half and Colorado hoping for a repeat like at stanford. but the costly turnovers and the explosiveness of the Oregon offense proved to much for the buffs. So as We fall to 2-5 we hope to get on track with going on the road vs a weaker Arizona state team this week. Stay tuned in for the updates. Go Buffs!
