Be A GM freeze ... shame on EA

I just finished my first year of my Colorado Avalanche Be A GM in NHL 10. Advanced to the Western Conference Finals, losing in 6 games to the Columbus Blue Jackets. I enter the off-season mode and the game begins to freeze every time I try and start the draft.

I do some research and find the freezing issue is very common in BAG. I re-load the game and try to create a backup save file (many suggested this as a possible workaround) but my game FROZE MID-SAVE, thus corrupting my file. ... Read More

NBA 2K10, cursed on my 360

I really wanted to try out NBA 2K10 this year. Any hoops game that breaks 2 million in sales within two months says something and I've been a 2K fan for a long time.

But, this year I went with NBA Live 10. I've had my moments with that game but at the end of the day, I really like it. The only thing I don't like is that the Dynasty Mode is kind of lacking in features, so this is where I figured 2K would fill that void nicely.

Why must we overreact to everything Madden-related?

A shock to no one, the Madden boards are beginning to buzz as information about Madden 11 begins to trickle out. But, has there been any "news" yet? Not really. All we've seen is a couple of thrown-together articles that contain fragments of information.

MLB 2K9: What Went Wrong?

The past 2 days I've been going back playing both the MLB 2K10 and 2K9 demos on my 360. I know you can only gauge so much from a demo but man, 2K9 looked like it had so much potential.

The R-stick pitching was good. No sinking action on fastballs and no meatball pitches. Yes, it was easier to spot your pitches but still, the overall mechanic was fine.

Today was a very stressful day. I don't know how many are aware of the school shooting that took place at Deer Creek Middle School in Littleton, Colo., but it happened today just as school was released for the day.

A single gunman struck two students, thankfully none of the injuries were life-threatening. A teacher tackled the gunman and with the aid of a bus driver, were able to hold him down until the authorities showed up.

Live 10 about to go bye-bye

Seriously, I'm this close to trading this game into GameStop. I just sat through an unbelieveable 20-minute stretch that infuriated me so much that I'm glad I have a punching bag down in my basement.

I'm playing a Dynasty game, Milwaukee (me) @ Philly. First half was back-and-forth, both teams scoring from outside and down low. I had a 52-49 lead and both teams were around 45-48% from the floor for the half.

NBA 2K8 rosters and sliders

Just picked up NBA 2K8 last night @ GameStop for $4.99. Man, I forgot how fun this game was/is. Very fluid movement and the lock-on D is great, especially since I am used to it from College Hoops.

Does anyone know where I can download some classic rosters? If not, I'll probably just do a fantasy draft and roll from there.

Oh, and looking for a good slider set, although I have to admit, this game on default All-Star plays pretty good.

Anyone abandoning Live 10 for 2K10 after recent news?

With the announcement that Mike Wang leaving EA and heading back to 2K (and the rumored cancellation of the NCAA Basketball series), is anyone going to cut bait with NBA Live 10 and move over to 2K10?

I am seriously considering it. I enjoy Live 10 a lot, but this whole experience leaves me jaded and makes me feel like EA doesn't take our feedback seriously. All they are looking at is sales figures and not the big picture.

NCAA Football 06 and PS2 fun

One of my "resolutions" for 2010 was to try and split my gaming time equally between my Xbox 360 and PS2. Since getting a 2nd PS2 in 2008 for Christmas, I've been hitting up GameStop, eBay, Garage Sales, Craigslist and other venues to pick up games on the cheap. I have close to 15 games in my PS2 library and I believe it has cost me less than $100.

Losing my job

When the news came down, I can't say I was totally shocked, but at the same time, it was still hard to take.

After five-plus years at my current job (don't want to say where but those who know me know what industry I work in), I will be out of work come Jan. 1. Cutbacks were something I knew were a distinct possibility and I knew that because of my experience, I had the potential of being let go.

Dynamic Season a bit underwhelming

One of the reasons I picked up NBA Live 10 this year was for Dynamic Season. The ability to go back and alter real-life games sounded intriguing, especially since each game contained accurate rosters (starting lineup, benches) and tracked everyone's DNA tendencies. So, let's say you took the Nuggets. No JR Smith to start but Carmelo was beastly the first week of the season, and that's reflected in his DNA.

That aspect of Dynamic Season I enjoy. A lot.

trade in your Xbox 360 plus your gaming library to pick up a PS3 slim?

That's the question I'm currently facing and it's all because of God of War 3, and the recently repackaged God of War I&II for PS3. I never got into GOW when I had my original PS2 but just recently I picked up a copy of the first GOW and now I get what everyone was talking about. Recently I picked up a copy of NHL Hitz Pro at Gamestop and got around to playing a few games today. Man, I'm impressed! While a game developed by Midway was never going to be a pure sim, I'm really shocked by the direction Midway had taken the Hitz series; it would've been interested to see where it would've led had the game gone on past the 03-04 season.

News broke late on Aug. 30 that the Minnesota Vikings had benched Brett Favre in the second quarter of their lackluster 23-14 win over the St. Louis Rams.

St. Louis -- Brett Favre was benched in the second quarter of Minnesota's 23-14 victory over the St. Louis Rams following his third interception of the half.

Favre, who was 3-of-9 for less than 50 yards, was replaced by Sage Rosenfels. Favre did not return to the field after the benching.

Vikings owner Prince Jackson will hold a press conference tomorrow to address the developing situation.
